More Chaos: Border Surge Expected as Biden Set to Soften Deportation Rules

The only thing preventing even larger mass illegal migration across the U.S. southern border right now is Title 42, a rule designed to speed up deportations during a public health emergency. It’s certainly not President Biden’s rhetoric, which has served as a welcoming beacon for illegal immigrants seeking a new life on the northern side of the Rio Grande.

Instead, as other Covid-19 precautions fall to the wayside because Biden decided Covid was no longer a beneficial political issue, so will Title 42 and the ability to use public health concerns as a way to immediately deport migrants as they attempt to enter the country illegally.

The end result will be a surge at the border the likes of which haven’t been seen in many years. April and May always bring new migration north, but this time the situation is expected to be completely overwhelming thanks to Biden’s policies which have left the southern border as porous as a broken screen door.

The numbers could be the highest seen in over two decades according to reports:

The Wall Street Journal reported late Tuesday that March is set to see the highest number of arrests by the Border Patrol of unauthorized immigrants at the southern border “in at least 22 years.” The Border Patrol “has made approximately 7,000 arrests each day in March,” the Journal reported, citing preliminary government data it had acquired.

Unauthorized crossings at the southern border soared to the highest level in decades last summer, with more than 200,000 encounters being recorded by the Border Patrol in both July and August. There had been a modest decline since then, but now the downward trend has been reversed.

The situation is already untenable as border agents serve as social workers rather than law enforcement officers under the current administration’s policies.

Come late May, as word gets out that Biden is softening his immigration policies even further, the situation could get dire:

The administration knows that the revocation of the policy, which had been deployed ostensibly as a public health measure at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, is sure to see attempted migrations rise even further.

White House communications director Kate Bedingfield told reporters at Wednesday’s press briefing that the administration would “defer” to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on when to end the policy.

But Bedingfield acknowledged that “there will be an influx of people to the border” once Title 42 is lifted. She added, “We are planning for that contingency.”

They are planning for the contingency of an influx of people rather than declaring that illegal crossings will be met with immediate deportation to try and stem the tide. The Biden administration finds this situation perfectly acceptable, allowing towns in the Southwest to be overrun with illegal migrants and sending them around the country by secret night drops at small airfields in suburbia.

As far as the voting public, Biden’s handling of the border and immigration remains an important issue, and he’s getting a failing grade across the country:

But the polling numbers don’t bear that out. A new poll Wednesday from Arizona showed Biden getting very poor marks on the issue.

The poll, from OH Predictive Insights, indicated that 57 percent of registered voters in Arizona disapproved of Biden’s handling of immigration while only 33 percent approved.

Nationally, an Economist-YouGov poll released Wednesday delivered a similar result, with 52 percent of adults surveyed disapproving of Biden’s handling of the topic and 33 percent approving.

The Economist poll also demonstrated the political salience of the issue. Eighty-three percent of respondents said immigration was either “very” or “somewhat” important to them, while just 17 percent said it was “unimportant” or “not very important.”

Democrats fool themselves into thinking voters don’t care too much about immigration, or at least don’t care enough to let it affect their vote. That’s a fantasy world they choose to live in, and it’s going to cost them dearly in November.

Biden already has a border mess on his hands and you can expect the situation to get worse as policies are further softened to encourage more and more illegal immigration. The 10,000 Haitians under a Texas bridge last year might look like nothing compared to what could happen over the next 60 days.

Good thing Vice President Harris got this whole border situation under control, right?
