  1. This could be a comedy, Greek Comedy, with “BLOW-back” Joe Biden comes out strong because OBAMA was weak, and “Blow-back” becomes “Pay-Back” JOE.
“Pinnochio” Watching Ryan`s nose grow on camera, both men emotional basket cases, Told to be calm and Presidential. YA right, see how long that lasts? GREEK COMEDY where economics covers up Drone killings,NDAA, Obama Kill list, HIDING the SHAME BOYS?

    • It is Biden that is the pathological liar, not Ryan. Only two types of people will be voting Democrat this year, traitors and idiots.

      • Josh, you are so right…..right on…Can people not see what condition our country is in….or is it just the free stuff that they are worried about…people that vote Democrat are total idiots….Ryan will win the debate with Biden as Romney did with Obama..I think anyone that is going to vote Democrat shouldn’t be able to vote until they see 2016, and if they haven’t they are bigger idiots than I thought….watch Foxnews and you will get the truth about who Pinnochio really is…

        • Fox News. That’s funny. Fox is nothing but pure “entertainment” for the super stupid. Why don’t you go to the facts and make an informed decision for yourself. Talk about regurgatating trash. In fact, it’s sad – not funny.

        • @Louise, you shouldn’t form your opinion or advice people based on information acquired from one source; please seek other sources.

        • Only The People who watch FOX NEWS…will get what you are saying….Beacuce they are all REPUBLICANS.

        • The President is under oath to protect the Constitution against enemies both foreign and domestic. With Obama, it is like having the fox guard the hen house! He is going against our Constitution with his sneaky Executive Orders, bypassing Congress, and messing with our First and Second Amendment rights. I agree that they should watch, listen to, and ponder about 2016. If Obama remains in the Oval Office, it will be too late for us to say, “I told you so!”

          • Name ONE thing (a real thing, not a fake/vague allusion to a law) that Obama did in office to affect anyone’s second ammendment rights. Did a bill pass that didn’t make the news? Did some amendment pass I didn’t hear about? Did a law I’m not aware of get struck down? Seriously, name ONE thing that Obama did to your precious, precious guns. I’m all ears.

Meanwhile, look up what Romney has signed into law in Massachusetts regarding your Second Amendment rights. If that is what you’re voting on in this election (and for the safety I hope that NO ONE is using better access to guns as their main criteria for a better country), but if that IS what you’re voting on….. juuussstttt google it. And I’m not talking about opinions on it (or that weird ad put out by the NRA), look for what laws Obama has put through regarding guns.

        • Louise is right on. I really wish people would just see what has really happened to our country in the past 4 years, and not be fooled by someone with no experience in running anything, but can give great speeches.

      • Josh Biggs you hit the nail right on the head! You said it perfectly.
I am so amazed how some people are standing up for the traitor-in-chief! They close their minds and won’t allow themselves to research, learn, and accept the facts about Obama.

  2. This could be a joke as Mr. Knopfler states, if Joe Biden keeps sticking his foot in his mouth like the comment about the middle class getting beat up the last four years. I’m sure Mr. Ryan will jump on every miscue, as he should. Joe will give usable sound bites every time he opens his mouth.

  3. Actually i believe this could be a big win for Paul Ryan. He is just the right vice president this country needs for the next four years or longer. This country has seen enough ruin with Obama as president. he has broken a big number of the promises he made for this country. And a big promise he broke was to decrease the federal deficit.

  4. I tried to find betting on the veep debate, but I guess they don’t bet on who wins a debate, since it’s totally subjective.

Of course, people don’t vote for vice presidents. If they did, GHW Bush would never have become president, since the future of Dan Quayle’s entire political career ended on the night of the debate with Lloyd Bentsen.

However, if GHW had dropped Quayle in 92, I’m sure he would have beat Clinton. Likewise, Obama should have dropped Biden.

The only thing Biden has going for him is low expectations. If Ryan comes off as a mouthy kid, Biden might be able to look adult.

  5. Voting for the lesser of two evils, still gets you evil.

Has anyone noticed the Barack creature looks more and more like a chimpanzee, and the Mitt creature like a statue in Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum…and that both are liars and cheats that hate Free Americans!

So, are you going to vote for Plastic Man or Monkey Boy…hoping whichever one of these evils “wins” will destroy our Free Nation at a slower pace…?

Or, are you going to take a stand against these two anti-American subhumans, and vote your conscience instead!

Gary Johnson is THE ONLY ONE TO GET YOUR VOTE — if you are a Real American and want to save our Nation!

    • I remember seeing posts like this from you but they used to end in “RON PAUL IS THE ONLY ONE TO GET YOUR VOTE, who was that again? RON PAUL RON PAUL”

      • Nate: This person is purposely insulting Surfisher and confusing the rest of us with that signup name.

And to the poster: Surfisher has moved to Gary Johnson because the system has made it impossible for Ron Paul to win. For instance, in Michigan, his name cannot even APPEAR on the ballot, because the GOP filed a lawsuit against him–saying since he ran as a Republican in the primary, he cannot run for any other party. How’s that for democracy?

  6. God help us if if Obama wins. I keep thinking about our Ambassador, the attacks on the consulate, his prior calls for help, the security that was denied, the purposeful blindness of this administration. While our Ambassador was begging for his life, Obama was in Vegas begging for money. He traded his “Commander in Chief” duties, ignored his number 1 job of keeping Americans and our Country safe, (especially on 911). Instead of attending to his job and coordinating our safety, he was coordinating a couch position on the View, a radio appearance with Pimp with a Limp, and a social engagement with Beyonce. Then he lied about it, blamed it on some home video and gave those terrorists an excuse to continue their rampage murders. This one situation alone should have any American with red blood running through their veins screaming treason & impeachment instead of worrying whether Biden is going to stick his foot in his mouth, we, as Americans, should be planting our foot in the part of their anatomy where the sun doesn’t shine!

    • You one of those peoe who thinks Nine Eleven happened under Clinton’s watch? Or maybe, actually, must have been under Obama’s watch now that I think about it. Bush was the guy who kept us safe. Yea, that’s the ticket.

      • moron, if the stupid idiots did it right the first time in 1993, 9/11 would have happened 8 years prior. I wonder who was President at the time…and what did he do about it? NOTHING.

        • Even the dittoheads who learn by FoxNews know that Bill Clinton gave Chris Wallace such an ass whuppin ON FOX about the 911 commission that if you STILL believe such garbage, then you are dumber than even the average Fox viewer. You don’t even have to know how to read, just watch Chris Wallace’s interview of Bill Clinton. If at some point you decide to play grown-up, read Richard Clarke’s book on the subject instead of relying on a series of emails sent by people who obviously think you’re gullible.

      • Libs.
They just throw it out there and see if sticks.
        Lie and who will challenge?
How could the Rs cut the budget with a dem Pres who would veto it?
Unfortunately for your argument, you forget that the Democrat majority in the SENATE failed to pass a budget.
Blame it on the Rs all you want, the reality is, the mess of the ME is now owned by Obama and Hillirah.

        • The Republican Congress cut the administrations request for embassy security by $128 million for fiscal year 2011 and by $331 million for fiscal year 2012. I don’t know where you are getting your information, but suggest you broaden your sources.

        • BTW, the 2010 budget passed in July of 2009, the 2011 budget was proposed on 2/1/10 and passed on 4/15/11, and the 2012 budget was submitted on 2/14/11 and passed on 12/23/11. You really need to do some checking into the facts before you make such unsupported statements.

Most legislation that the Senate has been unable to pass has been due to the obstructionism of the GOP which has used an historic record breaking number of filibusters in order to further depress our economy, focusing only on making Barack Obama a one term President. At least, that is the claimed goal of Mitch McConnell.

  7. I do think there was only one person on the stage that could not beat Obama even though they were all pretty much the same. (two exceptions) All but one had a pretty good track record for sure and only one stood out as a sure loser. But once again the voters ignored the track records and listened to their empty promises.

The government is 16 trillion in debt but the voters are better than 53 trillion in debt so hello Greece, here we come.

  8. Does anyone know if any of the above channels will re-broadcast the debate? I will be in a hotel and have a client event during the actual debate but wanted to watch when I return to my hotel.

    • Brooke: Also, of course, you’ll be able to get both the video AND the printed transcript online pretty quickly. I prefer the transcript, because in five or ten minutes you can get what they say. But, of course, the American people are more interested in HOW it’s said.

  9. I am fed up with people talking about the condition of this country. It didn’t get that way overnight and Democrats were not in office during that time. When President Clinton left office the county’s deficit was in the black. When the President Bush gained office returned to red. And, did we EVER find the “weapons of mass destruction?” Some of what goes on is not only the President’s responsibility it is the country at-large. If you don’t like the condition, go to your congressmen, go to your representatives. There was a time the country’s people would “take it to the streets.” No one wants to take a risk—too afraid of what people might say, or they are afraid they will lose their material things. Those things aren’t worth having if you are not at peace. Another point, THESE MEN ARE NOT GODS!!!! There are some things they can not repair. After all, they have congress and the senate to approve or disapprove of bills/amendments, etc. To quote one of our former presidents, “Don’t ask what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”

    • Clinton created the housing bubble. His illegal rewriting of the CRA of 1977 gave Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac the ability to hold only 2% of every mortgage instead of the 10% that was previously required. That allowed banks to give mortgages to people that could not afford them. Alan Greenspan told Bush in 2004 that there was going to be a serious problem if something wasn’t done immediately. Bush went to the heads of the Senate finance committee and House Finance Committee (Dodd and Frank) respectively 17 times and tried to get something done and both said there was nothing wrong with Fannie Mae and tha people should invest in it, that it was solid. Bush was overridden each and every time. We see how that turned out.a

  10. @Kathy; And please enlighten us as to how much Obama (I can’t even say
“Mr. Obama” or “Mr. President” in that statement) has done the very same thing as JFK spoke of. The man is an absolute embarrassment to this country and everything it stands for. In Obamas case, the saying must be “Don’t ask what your country can do for you, ask what I can do TO the country”.

Because he’s done it. In spades.

Yes, the condition of this country sucks. What we need to do is start acting like America again. Mitt certainly isn’t perfect, but can a brother at least get a president that does his job?

    • My question is when was the last time a president did their job? We have not had true leadership in this country since the late 18th century and then again when Lincoln took office. Thus quit putting the problems of this country solely on all our presidents, leadership in the houses is eqaully important. There is no common sense coming from either side in there.

Last but not least, what makes you think Mitt will do anything? He will have a polarized Congress to work with just like Obama and nothing will get done again. That is not to say put all Repubs in the House and Senate because I guarantee that will not create the society you want. Then you will be back here complaining about the next administration LOL. Wake Up America!!!

  11. Mary E. – ask Bin laden if Obama has “coordinated our safety”. Good thing we stopped looking for imaginary weapons of mass destruction but kept looking for our actual number one enemy who actually planned the 9/11 attacks!
    Kathy, you are so right!

  12. Ok Kathy If its enlightenment you want!
How can a Deficit be in the black? The national debt has been growing by mega leaps and bounds for decades. We have been putting a load of debt and problems on the backs of our children-Grand children and great grand children that they can never repay.Sadly you can not blame one party for the irresponsible spending . It has been under the watch of both parties and it is unlikely to be repaired in our lifetimes. And as far as 9/11 was concerned, after it happened every American was screaming “go gettem George”. Now every where you go there are monday morning QB’s. Yes It wasn’t handled perfectly but I doubt that the current president would have done any better.

  13. to Josh Biggs: Check your spelling on TRAITORS (idiot)
to Mary E; Did you know that the republicans cut security spending on foreign embassies, now they’re crying foul becuse seurity was not what it could have been??? typical republican hypocracy check your facts begore drawing uninformed conclusions

  14. These exchanges have been interesting but non-productive. What will happen will happen. However, a number of comments indicated that the writers didn’t expect the truth from one candidate or the other. If a candidate is not truthful it is the job of his debate opponent to bring that to everyone’s attention. Are you so well-prepped on the issues of the debate that you can identify lies? Or are you basing your expectations of truthfulness on what you choose to believe and to rationalize your support of the candidate of your choice and to attempt to draw others to your point of view?

You know, this Iraqi WMD issue still rears its head. Hussein had used the WMD poison gas on the Kurds and killed thousands of them. There was every reason to believe that he still had it, and that if he had it he would use it again on an adversary. Assuming that he didn’t have it or wouldn’t use it would be very dangerous.

Watch the debate. Learn what you can. Make up your own mind after hearing the debate without relying on input from the pundits. You don’t need them if you have ears and a brain.

  15. To answer the question at hand, do vice presidential debates matter? Yes. I think the country deserves to know the view of someone that could possibly be their commander in chief. Just to respond to several comments I have read in one reply I would first like to say everybody is entitled to their own opinion. Just because you think differently from someone else doesn’t mean you’re right and they’re wrong or vice versa. It just that you all opinions! And to say that anyone that is voting democrat is an idiot is an idiotic statement and display your idiosyncrasies. It amazes me how so many people are willing to vote Republican just because the dislike of the commander of chief due to obvious prejudice reasons. Are you part of the group that would even benefit from the things that the Republicans are looking to implement? If your answer is no, than who’s the idiot for voting Republican? Obama may have not done all that he said he would do but it wasn’t that he didn’t try. Do your homework! Everything bill that he set out to pass to help the country was shot down by the Republican party! And I think is selfish, unfair and down right stupid to be so against an individual that you are willing to put entire country at stake! And let’s not forget that Obama inherited 8 years of a Republican pitfall. And as a friendly reminder when Bush took presidency and the torch was passed onto him from a DEMOCRAT the country was doing great! There was no debt in fact we had a Surplus! That coupled with we exemplified world peace! And you want to speak on get your facts, hmmm… My advice to all of you is to vote for whoever you feel you, your family and your country can most benefit from and not from someone that can talk a good game at someone else’s expense!

    • KEwing74:
When Clinton took office he was the beneficiary of Reagan’s policies economically. Lowered taxes under Reagan boosted the economy for over a decade. Clinton took the credit. GWB took office in Clinton’s recession, not one of his own making. Add the financial melt-down post 911 and then figure out whose policies work. We came out of that double whammy in less than a year under Bush contrasted with Obama’s 4 years of stagnation now. All of those “R-blocked” issues you all cite could easily have been passed in Obama’s first 2 years when he had majorities in BOTH houses of Congress, but they weren’t as important to him as taking over 1/6 of the economy for health care. Only in 2010 did he lose his veto-proof majorities, thank God and the voting public.
As to the WMD, what do you think they’re worried about in Syria NOW? Hussein shipped the bulk of the WMD to Assad several weeks before we invaded to try to cover his sorry behind. There were news reports of the Russian truck convoys back then, but the MSM ignored them.

  16. After 4 years of watching this administration trash the rule of law and The Constitution, anyone who votes for Obama/Biden should be considered traitors because they certainly are.

    • This constitution does not represent the 21st century. Pull your head out of the sand and promote common sense solutions for the constitution.

  17. My father serviced this country for 30 years, my brother serviced for 20 years and myself for 26 years. I love this country and was overseas for the last presidential election in 08. I voted by absentee ballots to be told that the ballots were mailed too late and would not return in time to be counted. This was no fault to any of us in the armed services and yet our votes were not counted. I have also seen the economy take a downward spiral lately. It seems to me that continuing to blame the last administration for all misgivings has passed. Let’s face it, that was almost four years ago. I listen to the current adminstration and there is no substance or meat to the discussion(talks in circles). It looks to me that people are only looking at what’s in it for themselves. We need to get back that sense of community and helping one another, like it used to be. Let’s face it we are on this earth together, we all share the same air, water, and living space. We all must work together and help one another. The days of the free lunches are over, we should look and pay attention to what has happened in Europe. We need to make some hard decisions, instead of going down the same road.

    • If you believe any one of these candidates are going to change the status quo I got some beach side real estate to sell you in Idaho. In two years we are going to be complaining about how Romney did not do anything (if he is elected). When is the last time America had true leadership on all levels. Not only the presidency but in the houses. The creation of the United States was the only time we saw true leadership at all levels. Wake Up promote common sense and for goodness sake people change this society from a ‘Republic’ to For the Poeple, by the people.

  18. If Obama and old ball Biden love the gay rights…they should makeout with eachoyher and give each other hand jobs so we know they are as liberal as they say supporting gay rights…God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

  19. If Obama and old balls Biden love the gay rights…they should makeout with eachoyher and give each other hand jobs so we know they are as liberal as they say supporting gay rights…God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

    • Homophobes who write such specific sexual fantasies on political websites always make me wonder about their true sexual orientation.

  20. Each and every last one of you need to turn off FOX News and MSNBC, learn the truth for yourself. These news sources are biased and one sided. Americans have become so polarized from one side or the other they have lost all common sense.

We need to ask our government to produce common sense solutions to today’s problems. Applying a constitution that was written over 200 years ago to today’s society is ludicrous. We must be able to progress as a nation without a document from the past holding us back. I am not saying scrap the whole constitution, but come on let us apply common sense solutions to today’s society.

We as americans have ignored our problems far too long and if you believe any one president whether it be Obama or Romney will solve them you are dilusional. Do you want common sense solutions for the good of all Americans or just a fraction of society. America is too large with too many ideas to focus on just one part of society. This is why the Republicans and Democrats form a base, you do not believe in everything one side is pitching. But you roll with them because it is the lesser of two evils. We as a nation cannot shove our values down the throat of others. We must learn to respect others and their beliefs. Learn to work together for common sense solutions for all. Remember America is a melting pot, we do not all believe in one God or some do not even believe in a God. Americans must be able to make choices for themselves, not what you believe is right or wrong.

Wake Up America, ask for a Government for the People, by the People. Let us get out of this two party system and work towards a government with a little common sense.

    • You have said a mouth full! I couldn’t agree with you more! The truth is I don’t ever think it will ever come to that because I think both parties like the toggle war of control. As far as the constitution is concerned I too feel that it should have been and should be revised. It is quite obvious even as a parent that you can’t raise your children by the standards that you as a parent was raised because times has changed! Therefore as you said how can you progess as a nation on something that was written over 200 years ago! I think your mentality and your way of thinking deserves to be heard! Hey, have you ever considered running for any political office?

  21. A staunch Democrat friend of mine feels Obama is brilliant. She is impressed by the way he speaks. So I sent her the links to three of his last speeches after the first Presidential Debate. On all three videos it shows he is using teleprompters. It is the reason why his head constantly moves from left to right and right to left when he speaks. He is reading off the teleprompters.

That makes him a brilliant teleprompter reader only – nothing else.

This also explains why he performed so purely at the first debate. Why he looked so incompetent.

He had to look down at his notes on the podium. There were no teleprompters allowed.

He is nothing but a fake and a fraud in my opinion. He has fooled many.

  22. Attractive component to content. I just stumbled upon your website and in accession capital to say that I acquire in fact enjoyed account your weblog posts. Anyway I’ll be subscribing on your feeds and even I fulfillment you access consistently fast.

  23. Have the American People been reduced again to vote for the “lesser of two evils” — are there no other options?

My conscience cannot allow me to vote for the “lesser of two evils”, because, that means that an Evil will still get elected!

    1) The Barack is the evil we know — a Socialist minded professional politician that will have most of its venomous teeth pulled out when republicans win more seats this election. Thus, it will lack the ability to do much more damage than it’s done already. If the Barack is “elected” it will end its last term in a whimper.

    2) The Mitt — the evil we don’t know…yet. But all indicators are that it is supported by the Central Banks. And that it supports Israel unquestionably to the detriment of our own national security (will start more unconstitutional wars to protect Israel, not the USA).

Should the Mitt win, we may be in bigger trouble — since it assured itself of no competition for the next republican nomination (see the false vote it made the GOP do on its behalf — THE TELEPROMPTER “KNEW” IN ADVANCE HOW THE VOTE WILL GO…SHAME, SHAME SHAME on the Mitt creature):

So, unless we vote for Gary Johnson — who wants to restore Liberty and Prosperity, what would you get instead:

Final four years of ‘toothless’ BO — or 8 more years of the Mitt (with the possibility it has groomed its spawn — 5 Mormon Sons — to keep the dynasty going) for many decades to come…?!
