Trump Heads West for Back-to-Back Weekend Rallies in Nevada, Arizona

This weekend will feature not one but two Save America rallies with former President Donald Trump on behalf of several endorsed candidates in Nevada and Arizona.

The back-to-back rallies are a rarity but as the weeks tick down to fast-approaching Election Day, the campaigning will only become more intense. On Saturday, Trump will rally for candidates in Nevada, home of a very competitive U.S. Senate race where Republican Adam Laxalt is currently leading the incumbent Democrat. On Sunday, the next stop will be Arizona, to support several candidates including Kari Lake running for Governor, and Blake Masters running for U.S. Senate against incumbent Democrat Mark Kelly.

For anyone thinking that ongoing legal battles with the Justice Department over materials gathered from the Mar-a-Lago raid would slow Trump down politically, think again:

The rallies are only the latest political engagements for Trump, who has started campaigning more aggressively for his endorsed candidates in the lead up to the midterms.

While Trump remains deeply popular among the GOP’s conservative base, his busy campaign schedule also could have some drawbacks for Republicans. Democrats have sought to put Trump and his hold over the Republican Party at the center of this year’s midterm elections, casting the November vote as crucial for the future of American democracy.

Still, Trump’s presence on the campaign trail could help fire up Republican voters at a time when the party has a shot at flipping control of the House and Senate. The GOP only needs to pick up five seats in the House to regain the majority, and only one in the Senate.

It’s arguably a benefit for Republicans to have Trump holding massive events and stumping for major candidates in crucial races. Republicans need Trump voters and vice-versa. They are typically one and the same. If Trump were to sit out and discourage voting in the midterms, there’s no question GOP candidates would suffer up and down the ballot.

The dual weekend rallies follow a recent string of events that kicked off the midterm campaign season in Pennsylvania, then Ohio, then North Carolina, and finally the most recent event last weekend in Michigan. No word yet on future rallies beyond this weekend’s double-header but it’s entirely likely a couple more could be scheduled before November.

We will cover both events this weekend with live streams and full details on each rally. Follow the Trump rally schedule for more information and signup for our newsletter to be notified of upcoming events.
