Guestlist (subject to change):

  • David Purdue, candidate for Georgia Governor
  • Herschel Walker, candidate for U.S. Senate
  • More to be announced

The Georgia rally will essentially be a rally for Purdue and Walker, two Trump-endorsed candidates in a state which has been a battleground ever since the 2020 presidential race. Both Walker and Purdue are welcoming the attention:

A statement from Trump’s leadership PAC announcing the rally said the event would also look to boost “other endorsed candidates.”

Perdue, who lost his Senate seat in a runoff in Jan. 2021, is running against Gov. Brian Kemp (R) in the GOP primary. Kemp, a staunch conservative, is in Trump’s crosshairs over his refusal to overturn the former president’s 2020 election loss in Georgia. In that vein, Perdue’s campaign against Kemp has focused largely on his perceived electability and handling of the 2020 race rather than traditional conservative policy issues.

“I’m proud to have President Donald Trump’s endorsement and look forward to welcoming him back to Georgia to rally support for our campaign,” Perdue said in a statement. “Georgians are ready for a bold conservative who will fight the political establishment, instead of caving to radical liberals like Brian Kemp has done every step of the way.”

Kemp, the sitting incumbent Republican governor, has the backing of the Republican Governor’s Association and other GOP establishment groups. Trump’s decision to back Purdue and create a primary rift could end up giving the Democratic candidate, Stacey Abrams, an advantage in November if the GOP can’t come together after the primary.

Trump still remains at the top of the 2024 GOP primary polls garnering just under 50% support on average over the past 30 days which continues to put him in the driver’s seat of Republican politics.

All the fireworks start at 7 pm ET on Saturday night when Trump once again takes the spotlight in Georgia.
