Report from

Democratic presidential front runner Hillary Clinton and challenger Bernie Sanders will meet Sunday night (March 6) in Flint, Michigan for a head-to-head showdown just days ahead of the March 8 primaries in the state.

The debate will begin at 8 p.m. EST (7 p.m. CST) from the Whiting Auditorium in Flint, Michigan. It will be aired on CNN and and simulcast on CNN International and CNN en Espanol. The debate is being hosted by MLive and the Flint Journal.

Anderson Cooper will moderate the debate, with Don Lemon and Dana Bash also asking questions.

The event’s location is particularly notable as the city has been embroiled in controversy after it was discovered residents were drinking toxic tap water after the source was switched from Lake Huron to the Flint River. Residents in the city claimed their complaints were ignored because they were minorities. CNN said the hosts of the debate will distribute half a million water bottles to city residents before the debate.

The Flint debate is one of those added by the Democratic National Committee after Sanders’ campaign called for additional events. It comes after Clinton, the former Secretary of State, widened her lead over Sanders after a strong showing on Super Tuesday, winning Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

The two Democratic candidates will meet for another debate on March 9 in Miami. Republicans will host their next debate the next day in Miami.

We’ll have the full video available after the debate airs.
