This weekend’s event will feature a crowd heavily invested in education and ensuring that inappropriate topics such as CRT and the sexualization of elementary school children are kept out of the classroom.

Essentially, this is a play for the “parents’ rights” voting bloc that helped propel candidates like Virginia’s Glenn Youngkin to victory in 2021 and will draw several GOP candidates with prime speaking slots over the next two days:

The top GOP presidential contenders are all heading to Philadelphia this week to address one of the most powerful factions of the Republican Party: parents.

The summit is hosted by Moms for Liberty, which has become one of the most dynamic groups in the conservative movement since it launched two years ago.

Even though Moms for Liberty doesn’t plan to endorse a candidate in the presidential race, the 2024 candidates are coming to court the group — in large part because of the outsize influence its chapters have had on the local level. Candidates endorsed by the nonprofit have swept dozens of school board races and have begun making big changes in K-12 schools.

Just down the road from the Philadelphia Marriott where former President Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley will address legions of parent activists, a Moms for Liberty chapter has supported school board members who pushed for policy shifts at the Central Bucks School District.

The organization sponsoring the summit, Moms for Liberty, has been brandished as a “hate group” by the likes of the Southern Poverty Law Center, a far-left joke of an organization that labels any views contrary to its own as “hate speech.”

MSNBC, with its brilliance, went so far as to call the group started by concerned moms “extremist,” here’s an actual headline:

If it’s extremist to believe children shouldn’t be groomed into hyper-sexualization in kindergarten, most common-sense Americans are extremists in that regard.

If it’s extremist to think that children shouldn’t be treated differently in the classroom based on their skin color, once again, most Americans would be labeled as extremists.

If it’s extremist to expect schools to focus on teaching children to competently learn reading, writing, math, and science, rather than left-wing political views, then most Americans are, indeed, extremists.

As the group motto states, “We do not co-parent with the government.”

Of course, the true extremists in this scenario are the ones trying to capture the public school system as a means to indoctrinate their far-left political views onto impressionable minds under the guise of education.

And yet, Democrats wonder why so many parents, in record numbers, have found homeschooling and private schooling to be such inviting options in the past few years.
