Endless Mask Mandates: CDC Director Says Masks Should be Worn to Prevent Cold and Flu

The camel’s nose is firmly under the tent when it comes to asking the public to wear masks. Regardless of studies that show cloth masks are around 10% effective when it comes to airborne particles, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky is now touting the benefits of universal masking for the entirety of the cold and flu season. Public health officials and the medical field, in general, will always go overboard when it comes to mitigating risk tolerance down to zero or as close to zero as possible, even if it means asking you to wear a biohazard suit to reduce your chances of catching something by 0.0004 percent.

Many Americans will continue to mask up since it has now become socially acceptable to do so. The question, however, is whether state and local governments will decide that they should follow CDC advice and begin requiring masks whenever cold or flu numbers tick up.

This line of thinking should scare anyone who is concerned with continued government overreach and letting that slippery slope continue to spiral out of control as a bureaucracy drunk with Covid emergency power never seems to give that power up:

The numbers referenced by Walensky seem suspect. If masks (she didn’t say which kind) reduce the chances of getting Covid by 80%, then why is there a need to force-vaccinate every American? Just let them wear a mask for 80% protection. After all, some vaccines don’t quite reach that level.

This is why the public-at-large and en masse has already decided that it’s time to get back to normal life and stop listening to every tidbit of advice that comes from the public health bureaucracy. If you don’t take your life back, you will be stuck in a fear cycle that never ends. Sure, you have your Covid vaccine, but the flu will get you, so keep your mask on and keep doing what we say, or you’re dead.

People like Walensky, and to a greater extent Dr. Anthony Fauci, have become terrible messengers for public health. Their advice is often contradictory to itself and they often flout their own rules and recommendations when it’s convenient. Fauci has already made statements questioning whether Americans can “have Christmas” this year, despite the world going on around him. When Americans can watch college football on Saturday with 100,000 fans packed in a stadium, then get Dr. Fauci on Sunday morning Face the Nation telling them they can’t have Christmas together, then watch the NFL on Sunday afternoon with another 100,000 fans in a stadium, people start to catch on to the grift.

These health officials have been drunk with power since March of 2020, and they’re not letting it go overnight. First, it’s vaccines, then it’s booster shots to the vaccines, then it’s forever masking, then it will be more booster shots, then continue to avoid crowds, then there’s a new variant that beats the booster so you need a different booster, you’ll go mad following this shifting advice the rest of your life.

The truth is that until the vast majority of Americans in every state move on from Covid-control, the rules and mandates won’t end:

I wouldn’t expect a White House spokeswoman to put a timeline on ending Covid restrictions, that’s not her job. However, the problem is how few officials in power seem to want them to end. Keeping people scared encourages those people to give up their rights and give up bodily control. Why do we think there is such an issue over vaccine mandates? Because too many people aren’t scared enough and aren’t following orders any longer.

In summary, we should not expect the restrictions and regulations to end voluntarily, they must be torn down by peaceful and continued non-compliance until they no longer have any impact or meaning.
