The Lubbock rally continues Trump’s Texas push in a part of the state that has traditionally been much more Republican than the major metropolitan areas. Paxton and Talarico are both campaigning in Lubbock on Tuesday, with Talarico also scheduled to hold an evening event near the Texas Tech campus.
The two Trump rallies come with the Texas Senate race drawing national attention in the final days before Election Day. Recent polling has shown a close contest, making turnout in both South Texas and heavily Republican West Texas especially important to the two campaigns.
Tuesday’s doubleheader also continues Trump’s aggressive late-October campaign schedule, with multiple stops across battleground Senate, governor and House races as Republicans make their final turnout push.
