Behold, the beginning of the unstoppable bipartisan Trump-Cuomo ticket in 2024. Both were relentlessly harassed by the Democratic Party, now both are out for revenge.
Seriously, though, the FBI raid on Mar-A-Lago is starting to make for some very strange bedfellows as even some Democrats question the wisdom of a badly damaged agency launching a raid on the sitting President’s top political opponent.
We covered Ron DeSantis defending Trump and accusing the Justice Department of further being “weaponized” for political reasons.
That was nothing, apparently, to the full-throated defense Trump was about to receive from … Andrew Cuomo?
In a tweet, Cuomo said the Justice Department must immediately start explaining itself or risk becoming the very thing that conservatives accuse it of, a political tool to harass Republicans:

Is that even real? Yes, it’s real, and it’s Andrew Cuomo’s official Twitter account demanding an immediate explanation and reasoning for the raid on Trump’s Mar-A-Lago home in Palm Beach.
Remember, this is the same Andrew Cuomo who was all but drafted in the summer of 2020 to replace Joe Biden as the Democratic Party nominee to challenge Trump for the presidency.
In response to Cuomo, Democrats accused the former governor of trying to ingratiate himself with the electorate once again in a bid to run for president himself in 2024:

It was the Democratic Party establishment that pushed out both Cuomos, that’s true. New York is exclusively controlled and run by Democrats, Andrew wouldn’t have resigned if it weren’t for losing the support of his own party.
Related to Andrew’s demise, Chris Cuomo, formerly of CNN, also lost his job because the left-leaning environment around him turned as well, mostly related to revelations that he was advising his governor brother during the sexual harassment allegations while he pretended to report objectively on his show.
Is this the Cuomo comeback looking to stick it to the powers that be in the Democratic Party? That’s certainly what it looks like from Andrew’s tweet accusing the Biden Justice Department of appearing overly political for launching a brazen raid on the private residence of a former president and likely future presidential candidate.
In another way, this is Andrew Cuomo trying to glom to Trump being harassed for purely political reasons to assert that his own indiscretions and problems are also the result of politically-motivated attacks. It’s quite a leap given Cuomo’s New York record of numerous sexual harassment allegations, nursing home deaths from bad Covid-19 decisions, and numerous corruption probes by state authorities that were shut down by the governor’s office.
In short, Andrew Cuomo’s problems were purely from his own hubris and belief that he was untouchable in his Albany Governor’s mansion.
For the moment, however, it makes for some tantalizing political news to see the once ardent Trump foe Andrew Cuomo coming to the former president’s defense and accusing the Biden administration of a politically motivated FBI raid.
