CDC Mask Guidance to Magically Change Before Biden’s State of the Union Speech

Isn’t it amazing how that works? President Biden’s first State of the Union Address is coming on Mar. 1, and the Centers for Disease Control says that Covid-19, in an abrupt change of protocol, has decided to politically cooperate and alter the circumstances of infection just in time so the President to take credit for easing restrictions.

Nothing political to see here, folks, just science-based guidance from an overly political agency that crafts recommendations based on teachers’ union preferences or demands from the White House.

Such welcome news that Covid-19 has decided to cooperate and change the course of the pandemic to make sure Biden has some positive virus-related statements in his upcoming SOTU:

The CDC said Wednesday it will loosen COVID-19 mask guidance “soon” — possibly within weeks — as the White House discordantly announced plans to roll out masks for kids.

CDC director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said the health agency will consider the number of severe cases and hospital capacities as “a barometer” for scrapping mask recommendations in some areas.

“We want to give people a break from things like mask wearing when these metrics are better and then have the ability to reach for them again should things worsen,” Walensky said at a White House COVID-19 press conference.

“We are looking at an overview of much of our guidance — and masking in all settings will be a part of that,” she said. “We’ll soon put guidance in place.”

The White House has reportedly urged the CDC to update the guidance ahead of President Biden’s State of the Union address on March 1.

Surely it had nothing to do with public polling and hyper hypocrisy on account of celebrities and politicians flouting mask rules while firmly insisting that school children must and shall remain fully masked from now until the end of time, no exceptions.

Suddenly, even blue state governors realized that they could face electoral consequences if they don’t start giving people their freedom back. What a sick and perverted phrase to have to write in America.

Let’s play the “can you imagine game” and imagine if reports indicated that former President Trump asked the CDC to loosen restrictions before a SOTU in order to provide better news to the American people. CNN would still be reporting live from the scene of the crime and it would be framed as a “threat to democracy.”

When Biden does it, openly, I might add, it’s no big deal because the CDC was going to loosen things anyway. Except, they weren’t, so it seems. Just a day ago, CDC Director Rochelle Walenksy was saying it’s too soon to ease restrictions. Suddenly, however, she’s had a change of heart and singing the tune sent over the White House.

The CDC which became politicized the second it started delving into issues like gun control as a public health matter has now become one of the most politicized agencies in the government. The losers here are the American people who do not get clear, fact-based advice from one of the world’s most premier public health bodies.

Americans have finally reached the conclusion that CDC guidance doesn’t have to be taken as law. The CDC recommends only eating well-done meat and never ever consuming raw cookie dough, and no one seems to listen. For some reason, though, when the CDC suggests children in K-12 schools should cover their faces with cloth for 8 hours a day to avoid what for the vast majority of children is a mild cold, it’s taken as gospel.

Never fear, the Biden administration decided this week that the science changed, so the CDC will need to accept the new science from the White House which is based on polls demonstrating that Democrats are getting wiped out over ongoing Covid-19 restrictions.

Political science has and always will be more important than medical science to Democrats still getting a high from their emergency Covid powers.
