Church and State: Kamala Harris Campaigns in Black Churches for Terry McAuliffe

In Virginia, where Democrats are about to go down hard next month in a further blow to President Biden’s domestic agenda, Vice President Kamala Harris is violating several laws by campaigning directly in black churches in support for the flailing Terry McAuliffe. The Biden administration is no stranger to blurring the lines between official government business and political campaigning as Press Secretary Jen Psaki has already been accused of violating the Hatch Act for campaigning in her official role from the White House, also for McAuliffe in Virginia.

Kamala Harris’ actions take the violations to a new level, proving that Democrats prefer to use church and religion when it suits their needs, especially when they have a chance to tell African-American voters who they should vote for due to the color of their skin.

Terry McAuliffe, former Virginia Governor running for a second term, is calling in every big-name Democrat he can find, a group consisting of election conspiracy theorists, defund the police activists, and a Vice President who apparently doesn’t respect tax laws that separate church and state:

Harris recently appeared on a video in which she speaks of her support for former Democratic Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, who is running again for the same office. Psaki, meanwhile, said that the Biden administration supports McAuliffe’s agenda and is working to support his campaign. But conservatives allege that Harris’ and Psaki’s gestures go against IRS law and the Hatch Act, respectively—the latter of which many figures within the previous Trump administration were found to have violated.

Trending Politics, a conservative news outlet, noted that Harris’ appearance may violate an IRS law that bans churches and charities defined as 501(c)(3) organizations from being involved in political campaigns. The clip is scheduled to air in front of around 300 predominantly Black church congregations, according to CNN.

Republicans often get bludgeoned for connecting politics and religion, but Democrats do it every single election year and they do it far more flagrantly and abusively than anyone else. Whether it’s Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama speaking from a church pulpit, or a campaign video created to run in black churches supporting Terry McAuliffe, Democrats enjoy telling African-Americans what to do and how to act because they’re not allowed to think for themselves.

In fact, the McAuliffe campaign is so openly campaigning in churches, the theme of this strategy is literally called “Souls to the Polls,” because Democrats strongly believe in separating church and state unless they want the church to vote for them:

The video is only one part of McAuliffe’s religiously minded “Souls to the Polls” media blitz. The “Souls to the Polls” events will be hosted weekly and are intended to encourage residents to vote on Sundays, with the first event held on Oct. 17, according to 10 Wavy.

The announcement generated controversy on social media, with many questioning if playing the video at church violates laws against political partisanship by religious institutions.

There’s no doubt the video violates laws against religious partisanship in church. It also takes Vice President Kamala Harris, using her official role, and turns it into an extension of the McAuliffe campaign in Virginia. Attorney General Merrick Garland is too busy attacking parents attending school board meetings to take notice.

The fake outrage Democrats screamed when President Trump visited a Virginia church for prayer in 2019 is meaningless and nonsensical given how flagrantly their party attempts to use black churches when they want black votes. It’s offensive and it’s prejudicial to assume someone’s political views would be compatible with yours because of the color of their skin.

The real reason for this move is that Terry McAuliffe is bombing with many typical Democratic constituencies, including African-American and Latino voters in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He needs to motivate voters to vote for him despite his terrible record, piles of lies, and generally disgusting demeanor.

In the end, Democrats once again show their true colors, which is opportunists that prefer for church to stay separate from government, unless they want to use the church to harvest votes.
