2020 Primary Cancellations: New York Delays Primary Until June 23

Several states with primaries originally scheduled in April are continuing to make changes and postpone their voting days due to ongoing CDC guidelines concerning the Coronavirus outbreak. We reported days ago on the number of states changing their dates, but here is an updated list which now includes the state of New York pushing its primary back to June 23.

It had also been reported that Sen. Bernie Sanders said he was prepared to at least stay in the race until the New York primary on April 23 and was expecting a twelfth possible debate to be scheduled. There is no word yet on whether New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s decision to postpone the Empire State primary until June will cause a change in Sanders’ campaign status.
