I’m aware of the current date but come on, this is too good to resist. Among Democratic voters in Iowa, Hillary Clinton is topping the list at this point for 2016. No poll was taken similarly for the GOP at this early stage so I only have one-sided results.

Report from Politico:

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would start out as a dominant favorite in the 2016 Iowa caucuses if she chooses to run for president, a new survey from Public Policy Polling finds.

The PPP poll, which was shared exclusively with POLITICO, shows Clinton taking 58 percent of the Iowa vote in a hypothetical presidential run. Vice President Joe Biden trails far behind at 17 percent, followed by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo at 6 percent and Massachusetts Sen.-elect Elizabeth Warren at 3 percent.

None of the other Democrats tested – Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and Virginia Sen. Mark Warner – cracked 1 percent in the poll.

If Clinton doesn’t run, Biden would jump into the lead with a less-commanding 40 percent of the vote, with Cuomo rising to 14 percent and Warren up to 9 percent. In the event that neither Clinton nor Biden runs, Cuomo draws 30 percent to Warren’s 13 percent, with 46 percent of voters unsure who they’d support.

Silly to speculate, yes. However, political junkies can never get enough of a fix.

  1. I think Hillary made a tactical error by announcing that she was leaving State. I assume that she wanted to make it VERY clear that she’s leaving of her own accord, but to what? She could have run for a House seat, but that’s a step down from both Senate and State. So that leaves her unemployed, and we saw how that worked for Willard.

She should be appointed to the Supreme Court, instead. She has a LOT of respect in the Senate, so I’m sure she would be confirmed. She’d have influence for the rest of her life. And it’s the one place where she wouldn’t have to fight to stay out of Bill’s shadow.

    • I don’t think she wants to run being associated with whatever Obama does in the next 4 years. She doesn’t want to have to defend it or run on it. She wants distance.

  2. I am part of the crowd who was with Hillary in 2007 and 2008.

There is a small fan base for her now, particularly after the Benghazi tragedy and her adherence to the Obama foreign policy (whatever policy that maybe, she follows it).

What group supports her for POTUS is not one I and many others will join. We are disappointed in her and she should have bowed out of politics altogether these last four years than be associated with a lackluster, far left and inexperienced administration.

Kudos to running a good race, Obamamites. Shame the country will continue its slide into a near Third World status.

    • Yep but the sorry part of it is the guy didn’t really have to be all that smart to see it coming. natural and foreseeable consequences, Kind of like buying a house you can’t afford.

(Huckster Alex Jones is tolerable — since Ron Paul is talking)

    • He’s NUTS!!!
Sorry Surf, but this guy is completely idiotic.
If republicans keep the witch hunt for evil empires, they continue to alienate the vast majority of America, Moderates and Independents. Who time after time are forced to choose between the less of two evils. Very few people believe the crock of BS and the bad mouthing from nuts like Jones on either side. That almost every elected has compromises to keep in order to remain in power, yes. But from there to what this guy tries to paint are to very different realities. The only reason this nonsense continues to be repeated is because the AH who repeat it have never been outside the US, have no clue what socialism is nor how it works. And give idiots like Jones the benefit of the doubt. However, no one VOTES for doubts.
Republicans should stick to the Freedoms granted in the Constitution, forget and distance itself from the radicals in all religions as Jefferson warned. Stop trying to shove down the throats of the people their personal believes. America was founded on the principle that each individual had the right to make their own decisions and had tolerate the rights of others to make different ones. 13 colonies did not agree with the KING trying to impose different views to their own.

      • Yeah Surfisher, the people don’t want change, things are going great just the way they are. There is plenty of paper and ink left to print ‘money”.

  4. Principles we must stand by!

“A government big enough to give you everything you need, is a government big enough to take away everything that you have….” Thomas Jefferson

“They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security” BENJAMIN FRANKLIN

“Freedom is not merely the opportunity to do as one pleases; neither is it merely the opportunity to choose between set alternatives. Freedom is, first of all, the chance to formulate the available choices, to argue over them — and then, the opportunity to choose.” C. WRIGHT MILLS

“When liberty is taken away by force it can be restored by force. When it is relinquished voluntarily by default it can never be recovered.” DOROTHY THOMPSON

“Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United States. A military force, at the command of Congress, can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power, and jealousy will instantly inspire the inclination, to resist the execution of a law which appears to them unjust and oppressive.”—Noah Webster, An Examination of the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution (Philadelphia 1787).

“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing” EDMUND BURKE

“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” ABRAHAM LINCOLN

“We should insist that if the immigrant who comes here does in good faith become an American and assimilates himself to us he shall be treated on an exact equality with every one else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed or birth-place or origin.
But this is predicated upon the man’s becoming in very fact an American and nothing but an American. If he tries to keep segregated with men of his own origin and separated from the rest of America, then he isn’t doing his part as an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. . . We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, of American nationality, and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding-house; and we have room for but one soul loyalty, and that is loyalty to the American people.” — Written in a letter by then former President Theodore Roosevelt on January 3, 1919 to the president of the American Defense Society.

***Petition for Texas to secede from US reaches threshold for White House response***

The People are finally Waking Up!

The petition on WhiteHouse.gov asks the Obama administration to “peacefully grant the State of Texas to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own new government.” The petition had surpassed 34,000 signatures as of Monday evening.

Similar petitions from other states have also been filed including: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Tennessee. However, unlike the petition from Texas, none of these states had reached the 25,000-signature threshold to get an official White House response as of Monday evening.

Here is the MSM link (with their usual spin):

      • Billy:

Yeah. There have been increasing comparisons of Obama to Lincoln. Now that we’re bringing the troops home from Afghanistan, we’ll need to do something with them. Might as well invade Texas.

        • Dump people seem to think that if we bring the troops home and pay them right here that that will cause unemployment. Look at how many military bases we closed down here and opened up overseas. Kind of like bailing out GM when more than half their jobs are overseas. We sure got pure idiots for voters. But then again maybe I’m the idiot and just can’t see the big picture.

        • Actually Goethe – BO is bringing them to lay them off, 110,000 thousand of them to be rifted. In addition, as BO cuts back on DOD spending, Mil/Aero companies will be laying off close to 200,000. 135K at Lockheed-Martin alone

          • Sam:

You say that like it’s not a good thing. Funny how we worry about spending until it comes to killing toys.

            • Yes Goethe – I guess it’s better to pay a little bit less than wages in unemployment for 99 mos for 300,000, and start the destruction of our military capability, Libertarian my butt, you are an Obama Democrat

            • Sam:

              Then so is Ron Paul:

“As many frustrated Americans who have joined the Tea Party realize, we cannot stand against big government at home while supporting it abroad. We cannot talk about fiscal responsibility while spending trillions on occupying and bullying the rest of the world. We cannot talk about the budget deficit and spiraling domestic spending without looking at the costs of maintaining an American empire of more than 700 military bases in more than 120 foreign countries. We cannot pat ourselves on the back for cutting a few thousand dollars from a nature preserve or an inner-city swimming pool at home while turning a blind eye to a Pentagon budget that nearly equals those of the rest of the world combined.”
              ? Ron Paul

“War is never economically beneficial except for those in position to profit from war expenditures.”
              Ron Paul

“When one person can initiate war, by its definition, a republic no longer exists.”
              Ron Paul

“The constant refrain that bringing our troops home would demonstrate a lack of support for them must be one of the most amazing distortions ever foisted on the American public.”
              Ron Paul

“We have a lot of goodness in this country. And we should promote it, but never through the barrel of a gun. We should do it by setting good standards, motivating people and have them want to emulate us.”
              Ron Paul

“We can achieve much more in peace than we can ever achieve in these needless, unconstitutional, undeclared wars.”
              Ron Paul

“Some supporters of the war use their religion to justify the war. Evidently, I’ve been reading from a different Bible.”
              Ron Paul

Cliches about supporting the troops are designed to distract from failed policies, policies promoted by powerful special interests that benefit from war, anything to steer the discussion away from the real reasons the war in Iraq will not end anytime soon.
              Ron Paul

I am just absolutely convinced that the best formula for giving us peace and preserving the American way of life is freedom, limited government, and minding our own business overseas.
              Ron Paul

Another term for preventive war is aggressive war – starting wars because someday somebody might do something to us. That is not part of the American tradition.
              Ron Paul

How did we win the election in the year 2000? We talked about a humble foreign policy: No nation-building; don’t police the world. That’s conservative, it’s Republican, it’s pro-American – it follows the founding fathers. And, besides, it follows the Constitution.
              Ron Paul

Legitimate use of violence can only be that which is required in self-defense.
              Ron Paul

Think of what happened after 9/11, the minute before there was any assessment, there was glee in the administration because now we can invade Iraq, and so the war drums beat.’
              Ron Paul, Dec. 8, 2011

‘Maybe we ought to consider a Golden Rule in foreign policy: Don’t do to other nations what we don’t want happening to us. We endlessly bomb these countries and then we wonder why they get upset with us?’
              Ron Paul, Jan. 15, 2012

‘[Secret Service protection] is a form of welfare. You know, you’re having the taxpayers pay to take care of somebody and I’m an ordinary citizen and I would think I should pay for my own protection. It costs, I think, more than $50,000 a day to protect those individuals. It’s a lot of money.’
              Ron Paul, March 20, 2012

‘I put responsibility on the president because this is obviously a step in the wrong direction. We have just totally disrespected the Constitution.’
Ron Paul, Oct. 3, 2011, speaking in New Hampshire about the killing of Anwar al Awlaki, adding that the that the impeachment of President Barack Obama was ‘possible

When things go badly, individuals look for scapegoats. I just do not believe that barbed-wire fences or guns on our border will solve any of our problems.’
              Ron Paul, Feb. 1, 2012

I think a submarine is a very worthwhile weapon. I believe we can defend ourselves with submarines and all our troops back at home. This whole idea that we have to be in 130 countries and 900 bases… is an old-fashioned idea.’
              Ron Paul, Nov. 20, 2011

‘Newt Gingrich has no business talking about danger because he is putting other people in danger. Some people call that kind of a program a ‘chickenhawk’ and I think he falls into that category.’
              Ron Paul, Jan. 4, 2012

The assumption that the government has to do this is the wrong assumption. I voted against the Department of Homeland Security and the TSA. It’s a bureaucratic monster.’
              Ron Paul, Jan. 29, 2012

“Governments, whether they’re dictatorships or democracies, reflect the people. When the people get fed up, they throw them out.”
              Ron Paul

            • Goethe – I believe Ron Paul has some good points and yes bring our troops home from everywhere and lose Tiwan and South Korea where we have major business interests. I AM all for getting totally out of the Mid-East – forever. But to bring them home and then lay them off and kill the Mil/Aero complex when unemployment is already sky-high, that B.S.

Continue the production of the F-35 and F/A-22 and “survey” all other fighter and attack aircraft. Replace the Big E with a new Carrier so we have 12 Carrier Battlegroups. Keep the Boomers comings so we can nuke attack from anywhere in the world at any time

Libertarian is small government but a big military and peace through force (or intimidation if you will). If the administration really wants to have an orderly immigration then put realistic immigration plans in place and put the troops on the border to enforce it and let the reserves go back home to their families.

            • Sam:

Nope. That ain’t libertarian. You can’t say we want freedom for ourselves, but we want to beat up everybody else in the world. And you can’t say you want small government, but you want to build a lot of high-priced equipment the Pentagon doesn’t even want–as welfare for the corporations. And you can’t say you want the government to provide military jobs just to fight unemployment. That’s worse than having the government hire people to work on our infrastructure.

If you’re a libertarian, you want other people to be free, too, and as Ron Paul said, that includes letting them overthrow their own government, when the time is right for them.

If you look through those quotes, they are all consistent on this issue. Big military is even more dangerous than big welfare, because those guns inevitably will be turned against you, if you step out of line. Food stamps won’t be.

            • Goethe – http://www.lp.org/platform – “We support the maintenance of a sufficient military to defend the United States against aggression. The United States should both avoid entangling alliances and abandon its attempts to act as policeman for the world.” I agree completely – except we have business interests in Taiwan and S. Korea and Israel to protect and have had since WWII. Outside of that leave the rest of the world alone. Our Platform says nothing about size except “defend the United States against aggression”. If we have a smaller military than any other two nations we are at risk from aggression against us. Our Boomers and Carrier Battle Groups secure any possible aggression from any two or three nations anywhere inn the world. And we can easily live with a modified Golden Rule – “Do unto Us as we will do unto You”.

The whole purpose of the 2nd Amendment is to protect ourselves “We the People”. They are several agencies (like DHS, etc) that should be eliminated, and in case you haven’t checked, our military is actually part of “We the People” and the Swearing in Oaths of Enlisted is to the Constitution, POTUS,& Officers above them – and our Officer oath is to the Constitution and the Duties of our Office. IE – the the Government or POTUS violates the Constitution then the Officers can give standing orders to protect themselves and the rest of “we the people”. If this Wingnut declares Martial Law, he will attempt to use his E.O.s to use DHS to enforce which would probably start a war between “We the People”, including Military vs DHS.

I see no problem with paying the Military and Mil/Aero for our defense. Internally and externally against the domestic and foreign government aggression.

And this doesn’t really violate any of our Platform.

            • Goethe – I’m not sure you read what i said. Besides Ron Paul is 75 and like me, we could “buy the farm” in a instant, so let him be a Sage and an elder. So talk to all the US companies in Taiwan, S. Korea, and Israel to move back home and we can become isolationists. We will roam the 7 seas above, on top of, and below.

BTW, Mil and Mil/Aero employees and companies give back 15 -> 35% back to the IRS anyway so they are actually taxpayers like anyone else who are not living on Entitlements (not the same as benefits).

            • Sam:

You can interpret anything to mean anything. We simply do NOT need to spend more than the rest of the world COMBINED. And we do not need behemoth jets and ships anymore. We keep buying crap the Pentagon doesn’t even want, because some congressman has to bring home the pork.

And I’m not convinced that we should be arming Taiwan–we agreed decades ago that it is PART of China. Likewise, South Korea. But at least South Korea is grateful and Taiwan kisses our butt. Israel spits in our face, and we just apologize to them for getting our face in the path of their spit.

            • Sam:

And Ron Paul received more campaign donations than all the other candidates (of both parties) combined–because Ron Paul believes in DEFENSE–protecting our country–not in maintaining CONTROL of all of the rest of the world–at any cost.

        • But where does this end, counties wanting out then cities next? How many states are on sound footing? Romney ran up the biggest debt per capita in the nation and there were a few that though he did a great job. Some even voted for him to be Prez. Then the Governor who ran up the biggest surplus per capita was called a nut job by many. Guess it’s me that marches to the beat of a different drum.

      • Billy Malone — the way Hitlery Clinton looks now, she could eat Hansel and Gretel (imagine what kind of a hag she’ll be by 2016)…

    • Ron Paul: You’re Not FREE if you Can’t Secede from an Oppressive Government

“In a free country, governments derive their power from the consent of the governed. When the people have very clearly withdrawn their consent for a law, the discussion should be over. If the Feds refuse to accept that and continue to run roughshod over the people, at what point do we acknowledge that that is not freedom anymore? At what point should the people dissolve the political bands which have connected them with an increasingly tyrannical and oppressive federal government? And if people or states are not free to leave the United States as a last resort, can they really think of themselves as free?”

Spread this 4 minute message like wildfire!

      My Take:

The District of Columbia (Washington, DC) — where the White House and all Federal Governmental Agencies reside — have passed the point by their anti-American-anti-Constitution ACTIVITIES that they have FORFEITED THE RIGHT to be called the USA. De facto, THEY have already SECEDED from the Union by constitutional default, and any State that wants to secede from THEM is a State that wants to RETURN BACK to the original CONSTITUTIONAL USA!

  6. *I Dreamt of Free America* (a friend of mine that escaped the Soviet Block in 1968 asked me to post this for him):

“I lived in a Communist Country that was totalitarian. In the morning I woke up to TV news that told me how great our Socialist Government was, then read the same in their newspapers, while waiting in line for bread. I was then 16 years old.

My parents went to work before the break of dawn, and came home exhausted each day after 7pm. The meager dinners we had were the best of times — my parents taught me not to believe the lies the communists told, but to dream that there is a truly FREE COUNTRY called America, where we’ll all try to escape to someday!

School I hated — it was six days a week back then — and all they taught us was how great our socialist leaders were, and how wonderful the world would be once Communism is achieved.

Every other Sunday, my parents and I (just like all our neighbors) had to attend in a basement the local Commissar’s mandatory gathering. Here, all had to pledge allegiance to our Socialist Republic, and have us tell on neighbors and friends who might be an Enemy of the State. The Commissar always made a patriotic call that ANY CHILDREN, that have seen or heard, their parents say something against the State MUST report them, since that is how our country would be saved from internal foes.

I’m sadden to recall that there were a few children that reported their own parents (these children did get an extra allowance of candy, AND THE RARE Chocolate bar…and we envied them, since Chocolate was an unheard of luxury back then), but next time we never saw their parents….

But I loved my parents and respected them — and no Chocolate bar could ever replace them.

We did escape in 1968 — and came to Freedom, the Greatest Country in the World back then, the USA!

My parents died in the 1980’s, and I no longer mourn them — because I’m happy they did not live to see what this nation has become!”

“Right now our USA is no different than the communist country I escaped from over 40 years ago!

Please, do not let my tale die with me.”

  7. Illegal Everything…in America!

re: John Stossel (from FOX News)— spread this video like Wildfire, showing that nearly All our Liberties are GONE!

It is estimated that over 1/2 Billion Negative Laws, Rules and Regulations have been created by the Federal Government in the last 40 years.

This number is STAGGERING — More NEGATIVE LAWS than there are Americans (counting all men, women and children in the USA) TELLING US WHAT WE CANNOT DO (thus negative laws) upon the THREAT Of GOVERNMENTAL PUNISHMENT!

All these UNCONSTITUTIONAL LAWS are enforced by gun-totting UNIFORMS — if you have not run afoul of such, try selling Lemonade on our lawn…and see how many gun-toting Uniforms will come to shut you down by the threat of their guns they so proudly wear!

Some are awakening to the fact that Our Citizens have become the most government controlled peoples on this Planet today!

These Few Enlightened Citizens, these Brave Patriots, these pure Souls in search of TRUE Justice and Liberty for All, have started petitions in all 50 States to Secede from the Federal Government that by its anti-Constitutional and anti-American ACTIVITIES has FORFEITED THE RIGHT to be called the USA.

The goal of the Secession Petitions is not to break away from the Union, but to negate the Unconstitutional Powers that Washington, DC has usurped for their own anti-American interests, and return ALL States to the Original (Organic) US Constitution!

It is shameful that the Main Stream Media, and their parroting, brainless shills, have such fear of the Truth, and are spreading false and silly accusations to this American Principle — Secession (if we did not Secede from Tyrannical England, we would not be called Americans)!
