25 States Join Texas Fighting Joe Biden’s Border Invasion

This is the “return to normalcy” promised by putting Joe Biden in the White House.

The southern border is merely a suggestion at the hands of the Biden administration. Record numbers of illegal migrants are crossing every week and no one in the federal government thinks that’s a problem. When pressed, they claim they’re “controlling the situation, ” which is an in-your-face-lie to the American people.

Cities and towns from New York to El Paso are stuck dealing with Joe Biden’s border crisis.

In response, the state of Texas decided to put up some fencing along the most egregious areas around the city of Eagle Pass. The idea was to deter rampant crossing by installing razor wire, which is the only prudent construct for a sovereign national border.

By the “calming” and “normal” hand of the Biden administration, Texas was asked to remove the wire because it might be dangerous for migrants. Isn’t that the point?

The issue went to the Supreme Court and wound up being decided in the Biden administration’s favor, per the Associated Press:

A divided Supreme Court on Monday allowed Border Patrol agents to resume cutting for now razor wire that Texas installed along a stretch of the U.S.-Mexico border that is at the center of an escalating standoff between the Biden administration and the state over immigration enforcement.

The 5-4 vote clears the way for Border Patrol agents to cut or clear out concertina wire that Texas has put along the banks of the Rio Grande to deter migrants from entering the U.S. illegally. Some migrants have been injured by the sharp wire and the Justice Department has argued the barrier impedes the U.S. government’s ability to patrol the border, including coming to the aid of migrants in need of help.

Isn’t that the problem, though? The border patrol, under this administration, is nothing more than a greeter at Walmart welcoming you in, handing you a phone, and giving you a court date decades down the road. There is little about “patrolling” the border that leads to the enforcement of immigration laws or attempts to keep non-citizens and dangerous terrorists out of the country.

Texas has vowed to abide by the limited order and allow the border patrol to cut some wire. However, the state also noted that the order does not bar more barriers from being erected. The media is covering this like it’s some territorial dispute over a park between the state of Texas and the federal government. That’s the low-information version of the story, again from the Associated Press:

A clash between Texas and the Biden administration over immigration enforcement showed no signs of easing Wednesday as federal officials renewed demands for the state to give Border Patrol agents access to a riverfront park that is a popular corridor for migrants illegally entering the U.S.

Texas has installed rows of razor wire in the park and says more is being added after the Supreme Court cleared the way for Border Patrol agents to cut or remove the sharp metal barrier. The fencing has become one of Republican Gov. Greg Abbott’s most visible measures to deter migrants in the border city of Eagle Pass.

There is no better illustration of the disconnect between American voters and the political ruling class in Washington. Border security is a top issue for voters but it’s not even on the radar in the White House.

As the Federalist points out, the real story is the constitutional crisis brewing over what defines an “invasion” and when a state is allowed to take matters into its own hands:

The Supreme Court ruled on Jan. 22 that the federal border officials could cut razor wire installed by the Texas National Guard along the Rio Grande if they felt it impeded their ability to do their jobs. Abbott announced on Wednesday, Jan. 24, that he would uphold the law by allowing his state’s National Guard to continue their operations, especially in high-traffic illegal crossing areas like Eagle Pass, Texas.

He emphasized that the Lone Star State has a constitutional right to defend itself against the 10 million migrants who have illegally crossed into the U.S. under President Joe Biden.

“The federal government has broken the compact between the United States and the States. The Executive Branch of the United States has a constitutional duty to enforce federal laws protecting States, including immigration laws on the books right now,” Abbott wrote. “President Biden has refused to enforce those laws and has even violated them. The result is that he has smashed records for illegal immigration.”

As of now, 25 states have joined in to stand with Texas and potentially offer resources in support of the effort:

  • Wyoming – Gov. Mark Gordon
  • Iowa – Gov. Kim Reynolds
  • Arkansas – Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders
  • Montana – Gov. Greg Gianforte
  • Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis
  • Idaho – Gov. Brad Little
  • North Dakota – Gov. Doug Burgum
  • Nebraska – Gov. Jim Pillen
  • West Virginia – Gov. Jim Justice
  • Alabama – Gov. Kay Ivey
  • Tennessee – Gov. Bill Lee
  • Louisiana – Gov. Jeff Landry
  • Georgia Gov. – Brian Kemp
  • Utah – Gov. Spencer Cox
  • Virginia – Gov. Glenn Youngkin
  • South Dakota – Gov. Kristi Noem
  • Oklahoma – Gov. Kevin Stitt
  • Alaska – Gov. Mike Dunleavy
  • Indiana – Gov. Eric Holcomb
  • Mississippi – Gov. Tate Reeves
  • Missouri – Gov. Mike Parson
  • Nevada – Gov. Joe Lombardo
  • New Hampshire – Gov. Chris Sununu
  • Ohio – Gov. Mike DeWine
  • South Carolina – Gov. Henry McMaster

The other question that needs to be asked is what the Biden administration gains from allowing millions of illegal immigrants into the country unchecked and unaccounted for. What’s in it for them?

The lack of concern for the security and well-being of American citizens is astonishing:

At a minimum, Biden’s complete disregard for border enforcement is a far bigger threat to America’s security and constitutional order than anything that happened on Trump’s watch, Jan. 6 included, an event the media and Democrats have been bleating about for three years. Yet how much discussion have you seen in The New York Times lately about Biden’s corrupt responsibility for America’s immigration disaster?

New York made kids go to class remotely so it could use their school as an immigrant shelter. (Though if you try to point out how outrageous this is, fact-checkers will tell you that any discussion of kicking taxpayers’ kids out of school for illegal immigrants “needs context,” and by “context,” they mean selective framing to mitigate the issue for the Democrats enabling this.) You have to provide ID, take off your belt and shoes, have your bags examined, and submit to a body scan to fly, but the government is flying planeloads of immigrants all over the country without any identification or due diligence to determine whether they are terrorists. Oh, and Boston is also literally housing illegal immigrants in Logan Airport, so no security threat there, I’m sure.

There’s no justification for the federal government fighting the state of Texas over securing the border. None.

There is a reason somewhere as to why the Biden administration insists on dissolving the border.

The Texas-Biden battle will come to a head at some point, the question is how much will it ramp up in the meantime.

Would the Biden administration have the gall to try and federalize the Texas National Guard? There’s your Supreme Court case that matters.
