Woke Liberals Attack Queen Elizabeth Hours After Her Passing

Why wouldn’t they attack her? There is no longer shame, self-awareness, or decency among the woke warriors bent on bashing and trashing anyone or anything they find offensive.

In case you haven’t read, which I presume you have, Queen Elizabeth II, the longest reigning British monarch of over 70 years, passed away on Thursday afternoon at the age of 96. Her tenure was long and astounding in terms of the things she saw in her lifetime and the changes around the world that happened during her rule.

Most onlookers and world leaders offered words of respect and adoration for the Queen and her steady hand on the throne for decades, but some weren’t quite as friendly in their thoughts and wishes.

It didn’t take long for liberal opinion writers from The New York Times, The Atlantic, and New York Magazine to begin dancing on her grave just hours after her death was announced:

One Pennsylvania professor even said she hoped the queen’s final hours of pain would ‘be excruciating.’

He added: ‘You can’t be a literal oppressor and not expect the people you’ve oppressed not to rejoice on news of your death.’

In The New York Times, Maya Jasanoff, a history professor at Harvard University, where she focuses on the history of Britain and the British Empire, said it was wrong to ‘romanticize’ her reign.

‘The queen helped obscure a bloody history of decolonization whose proportions and legacies have yet to be adequately acknowledged,’ she wrote.

A writer for The Atlantic magazine, Jemele Hill, also chimed in on her Twitter account, saying journalists had a duty to cover what she called the ‘devastating’ impacts of Elizabeth’s reign.

‘Journalists are tasked with putting legacies into full context, so it is entirely appropriate to examine the queen and her role in the devastating impact of continued colonialism,’ Hill wrote.

Some of the content was so vile that Twitter actually removed it:

In a disgusting tweet, now deleted by Twitter, modern language teacher Anya wrote: ‘I heard the chief monarch of a thieving raping genocidal empire is finally dying. May her pain be excruciating.

‘If anyone expects me to express anything but disdain for the monarch who supervised a government that sponsored the genocide that massacred and displaced half my family and the consequences of which those alive today are still trying to overcome, you can keep wishing upon a star.

‘That wretched woman and her bloodthirsty throne have f***** generations of my ancestors on both sides of the family, and she supervised a government that sponsored the genocide my parents and siblings survived. May she die in agony.’

Twitter later removed the posts for violating their rules.

As Americans, we watch the Royal Family and the British monarchy from afar and mostly as a form of entertainment or merely fodder for tabloids. Below that surface, however, lie decades of history under Elizabeth II and her work toward bringing England into the modern era. From a time gone by full of traditionalism and a different set of standards for public discourse, the Queen was a living relic of history still blazing trails in her late years.

There is no denying Britain’s colonial past and some would argue even its present state. Much of that was inherited by Elizabeth as most of the active colonizing ended before she ascended to the throne.

A good portion of the Queen’s time saw a reduction of England’s colonial footprint as one by one, territories and areas once dominated by the monarchy decided to break away, sometimes by choice, sometimes by rebellion.

Among most world and political leaders, very few if any retain a 75% approval rating as Queen Elizabeth does. Further digging shows that her approval never dipped below 70%, an impossible number for any modern figure.

Forme President Donald Trump had a reportedly good relationship with the Queen and offered some glowing words:

“Melania and I are deeply saddened to learn of the loss of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Together with our family and fellow Americans, we send our sincere condolences to the Royal Family and the people of the United Kingdom during this time of great sorrow and grief. Queen Elizabeth’s historic and remarkable reign left a tremendous legacy of peace and prosperity for Great Britain.

Her leadership and enduring diplomacy secured and advanced alliances with the United States and countries around the world. However, she will always be remembered for her faithfulness to her country and her unwavering devotion to her fellow countrymen and women. Melania and I will always cherish our time together with the Queen, and never forget Her Majesty’s generous friendship, great wisdom, and wonderful sense of humor. What a grand and beautiful lady she was—there was nobody like her!

Our thoughts and prayers will remain with the great people of the United Kingdom as you honor her most meaningful life and exceptional service to the people. May God bless the Queen, may she reign forever in our hearts, and may God hold her and Prince Philip in abiding care.”

As for President Biden, let’s just hope he doesn’t have another gaseous incident at the upcoming funeral.
