First the Vice President’s residence in DC, now the liberal enclave of Martha’s Vinyard in Massachusetts. It’s almost as if there’s some kind of border crisis leading to thousands of illegal alien crossings every week. Oh, wait. There is.
We touched on this report briefly but as the day went on, the story grew and became a rallying cry for liberals who seem newly awakened to things like “human trafficking” and “exploitation,” two things they’re accusing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis of for flying 50 migrants to Oprah Winfrey’s backyard. The same people crying foul now have never once uttered a word of concern for the actual human trafficking and smuggling taking place along the southern border every single day.
Vineyard residents did their best to cope but have now declared a “humanitarian emergency” to deal with 50 people getting off a plane:
Florida’s Republican governor, Ron DeSantis, created an “urgent humanitarian situation” in Massachusetts, authorities said, by deporting about 50 undocumented migrants to Martha’s Vineyard with no apparent notice.
Two planes carrying mostly Venezuelan and Colombian adults and children landed on the island on Wednesday afternoon, as part of what DeSantis’s office said was “a relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations”.
“There was no advance notice to anyone in Martha’s Vineyard or Massachusetts that these migrants were arriving, to my knowledge,” said Julian Cyr, a state senator.
The Dukes county emergency management association activated emergency shelters and other resources usually reserved for hurricanes, in order to deal with the “unexpected urgent humanitarian situation”.
It took only 50 people to cause Martha’s Vineyard to enter a state of an “unexpected urgent humanitarian situation.” Imagine what border towns along the Rio Grande have been dealing with for years as thousands of illegal border crossings happen every week with untold numbers of people wandering in and taxing public services.

Fact check: It was President Obama who put kids in cages and the Biden administration has been flying migrants around the country for months, dropping them off usually at night. Save your tears, Dave, your party owns this mess.
It’s not clear whether this is the mayor or some other city official in the video below but the message is clear, they can’t stay in Martha’s Vineyard, that’s a place reserved for liberal elitism with no room for immigrants. They don’t even have housing for 50 people!

For years it’s been conservatives almost exclusively complaining about human trafficking, exploration of minors, drug cartels, and the ongoing violence around the unsecured southern border. Democrats scoff at the problem because they want open borders and unfettered illegal immigration. The Biden administration has done everything it can to make the situation worse and encourage more and more migrants to make the trek.
Keep in mind these migrants entered the United States illegally with the hope of blending in somewhere for a better life. Liberals are accusing DeSantis of using them as pawns but the truth is that it’s Democrats who have been using them as pawns for years by continuing to let the issue fester. Now they’re just getting to see their pawns dropped in their own backyards rather than some rural county in Texas 2,000 miles away.
What will happen tomorrow? Migrants bussed to Nancy Pelosi’s kitchen to raid her ice cream? We can only hope.
