President Unity strikes again by attacking his political opponents.
This Thursday, Biden is set to give a primetime address on the “soul of the nation,” a speech likely to be heavy with emotion and light on facts or policy. It’s a plea similar to past speeches where the Unter-in-Chief accuses half the population of wanting to “destroy the country” but then asks for everyone to come together and, um, vote for Democrats.
All of this follows the unprecedented FBI raid on former president Donal Trump’s private residence at Mar-a-Lago, a raid which the Justice Department still hasn’t provided worthwhile justification for yet.
Anyhow, Biden’s Thursday speech should be a snooze fest:
A White House official said Thursday’s address at Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia would focus on “the continued battle for the soul of the nation” and show how the president sees the central argument of his 2020 candidacy remains as salient as ever with the midterm elections coming into clearer focus.
The president will lay out how America’s standing in the world and its democracy are at stake, the official said. Biden will highlight what he sees as progress over the past two years to protect our democracy, but note that rights and freedoms remain at risk.
“He will make clear who is fighting for those rights, fighting for those freedoms, and fighting for our democracy,” the official said.
In what world is Biden living where it’s “MAGA Republicans” hurting our standing around the globe?
It was the Biden administration that set fire to Afghanistan giving Russia the green light to roll tanks on Ukraine.
It was Biden’s failed economic policies and spending that gassed inflation to record levels.
It was also Biden’s policies that took aim at the oil and gas industry putting America in a precarious situation and back to relying on foreign sources of energy.
Nothing Biden has done has strengthened America’s standing in the world but has only served to weaken it. Another speech from the same guy who said anyone not supporting his voting rights reform bill was racist is the guy continuing to lecture the country on unity and togetherness.
The NBC News article above mentions this doozy from last week where Biden, in his bid to unify the country, said “MAGA Republicans” are destroying the country:
Last week, in remarks at a Democratic National Committee rally in Maryland, Biden said that “MAGA Republicans don’t just threaten our personal rights and economic security, they’re a threat to our very democracy.”
“They refuse to accept the will of the people. They embrace — political violence. They don’t believe in democracy,” he said. “This is why, in this moment, those of you who love this country — Democrats, independents, mainstream Republicans — we must be stronger, more determined, and more committed to saving America than the MAGA Republicans are to destroying America.”
Once again, a show of unity that involves capitulating only to Biden’s view of the world. You’re with him, or you’re trying to destroy the country is basically the message.
How this translates into his ability to speak to the “soul of the nation” is unclear.
With any luck, trotting President Empathy out for a primetime address to lecture everyone will remind voters of why they grew to distrust Biden and quickly saw through his fake leadership facade. He’s a better campaigner in the basement.
