Merry Christmas from 2016 Election Central. May you and yours have a blessed holiday and Happy Near Year!

9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.”

Luke 2:9-14 (NIV)

  1. I wish all a very Merry Christmas and Holiday season to celebrate with friends and family the birth of the Lord and Master Jesus of Nazareth. His teachings have been alive for more than 2000 years.

  2. Not a Seinfeld fan and don’t know O’Keefe and had never heard of Festivus before now. I believe and feel that everyone should practice in the goodwill, non-commercialism and joy of love and friendship and Festivus is as good a word as any for the display of love and joy. May your soul and / or human be at love and peace and celebration of positive energy..

    • Bob: I have listened with some surprise, people telling their favorite “Christmas movie.” Personally, I think Love, Actually is the best movie that occurs during the Christmas season, but I don’t consider it, or Die Hard, or While You Were Sleeping, or others as “Christmas movies.”

I think A Christmas Story qualifies, since the whole focus is toward Christmas, even if it is commercial. And of course, Charlie Brown Christmas. There’s Holiday Inn, too. I’ve never seen Elf, but I hear it’s good. There’s the Grinch (animated).

I always loved Miracle on 34th Street (the original), What a Wonderful Life, and Scrooge (1951), and who could not like Bad Santa? Liked Shop Around the Corner (NOT the remake–You’ve Got Mail)

I consider Scrooged, The Santa Clause, and such just somebody’s answer to, “I know, let’s do a Christmas movie!”

  3. “I believe and feel that everyone should practice in the goodwill, non-commercialism and joy of love and friendship… May your soul and / or human be at love and peace and celebration of positive energy..”

Good sentiments, Sam. And may we all practice them every day, not just once a year.

  4. Nate — Merry Christmas?

Wow — you is brave. You is not in touch with MSM. You is insensitive to other religions — now in America you is to say Happy Holidays… only!!!

Has you not been to any store — where they ain’t allowed to say them 2 bad words (pssst… Merry Christmas), but is greeted with “Happy Holidays” instead? What’s wrong with you, you dare oppose this unspoken law? To the FEMA Camps with you!

    LOL!
