The Georgia stop comes with two major statewide races approaching the finish line. Collins is challenging Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff in one of the most closely watched Senate contests of the 2026 cycle, while Jackson is running against Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms for governor.
Trump’s visit gives Republicans another opportunity to push turnout in northwest Georgia, one of the party’s strongest parts of the state. Collins and Jackson have both confirmed they will attend the Dalton event, which comes as early voting is already underway across Georgia.
The Senate race has drawn particular national attention as Republicans try to defeat Ossoff and strengthen their position in the chamber. Collins, a Republican congressman, has spent the fall campaigning heavily on immigration, inflation, energy and the Trump administration’s record, while Ossoff is seeking a second term after first winning the seat in the 2021 runoff.
Collins and Ossoff have also been meeting on the debate stage during the closing stretch of the campaign. Their latest televised debate was held earlier this week as both candidates work to win over the relatively small group of undecided voters remaining in the race.
The governor’s race will also be part of Friday’s rally. Jackson is running against Bottoms to succeed term-limited Republican Gov. Brian Kemp, giving Georgia voters another high-profile statewide contest alongside the Senate race.
Trump has already made several stops in Georgia during the 2026 campaign, including earlier appearances in Rome and the Atlanta area. The Dalton rally continues an aggressive final-month travel schedule that has taken him through states including Texas, Nebraska, Ohio, New York, Tennessee, Alaska, Arizona and Montana as Republicans work to boost turnout before Election Day.
