Joe Biden’s Foreign Policy ‘Expertise’ Fails the World yet Again

When former President Barack Obama, as a candidate, took then-Senator Joe Biden as his running mate, observers noted it was a way to shore up the ticket’s foreign policy credentials. After all, Biden had been a mainstay in the U.S. Senate for decades, taking important tasks like charging the Foreign Relations Committee.

Joe Biden, according to conventional wisdom, is and was a foreign policy expert.

Most observers watching without a partisan lens were wise enough to know otherwise. On crisis after crisis, Joe Biden has been on the wrong side of history time and time again. Biden’s foreign policy is one where America is weak and America’s enemies are emboldened. Just look at Russia, China, and now terrorist states like Iran.

This, for example, did not age well:

Is America stronger and the world more secure under Joe Biden? With the Hamas terror attack on Israel over the weekend leaving likely over a thousand innocent Israeli civilians dead, hundreds captured as hostages, and countless others maimed and raped, Joe Biden’s ineptness is on full display.

As NBC News questions, with a hilarious reference to Biden’s foreign policy “expertise,” what’s left of Biden’s vision for global security and a strong America?

Presidential races don’t normally hinge on crises in distant nations, but the armed conflict that broke out in Israel threatens to undercut Joe Biden’s argument that his foreign policy expertise is making the world more secure.

As a sitting president who pledged to restore competence in the foreign policy arena, Biden now faces accusations from political opponents that global trouble spots are multiplying on his watch.

Polls show that Americans are turning against the Biden administration’s arms deliveries to Ukraine in its grinding war with Russia. A U.S. Air Force general predicted in a memo in January that the U.S. and China could be at war by 2025.

Once again, if this is the normalcy promised by Joe Biden, please give us back the chaos of Donald Trump.

From the onset of the Hamas terrorist invasion of Israel, various Biden administration officials started off calling for a cease-fire, a move that drew immediate criticism and caused Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to remove a boneheaded X post.

It’s not hard to see who the good guys and bad guys are in this conflict. Hamas, funded by Iran, must be crushed by Israel and the rest of the free world as quickly as possible. The barbarism on display by Hamas fighters cannot be tolerated on a civilized planet.

Beyond its initial dopey response to the attack, the Biden administration just weeks ago released $6 billion to Iran in exchange for a handful of hostages, a move coming back to bite everyone:

Republican presidential candidates were quick to fault Biden after Hamas launched its attack. GOP front-runner Donald Trump’s campaign put out a statement focusing on the $6 billion in Iranian oil revenues that the U.S. had frozen through sanctions. Iran has historically funded Hamas, with whom Israel is now at war. In exchange for releasing the money, Iran agreed to let five imprisoned Americans return home.

“One month ago, President Trump warned that Joe Biden’s weakness and $6 billion payout to Iran would ‘be used for terrorism all over the Middle East,’” the Trump campaign statement said. “That’s exactly what is happening now.”

The administration claims none of that money can be used for terrorism, a joke of a claim that they have no way of verifying. In short, it’s likely Joe Biden, with his extensive foreign policy expertise, is funding terrorism by empowering Iran. To claim otherwise is to claim knowledge that each penny given to Iran is accounted for in some transparent way, a preposterous idea. Furthermore, simple accounting tricks of moving money around for certain purposes provide plenty of avenues for Iran to use that $6 billion any way it pleases.

With Russia’s aggression toward Ukraine, China’s aggression toward Taiwan, and now Iran’s aggression toward Israel, it looks like America’s enemies are running the show. At the same time, Joe Biden’s foreign policy expertise sits on the sideline.

The foreign policy expertise Joe Biden possesses is extensive knowledge of how to extract money from foreign sources in exchange for moving the foreign policy needle at home. On that front, Joe Biden is, indeed, an expert.
