Poll: Even Democrats Say “Invasion” is Happening at the Southern Border

There’s nothing pithy to say about the porous and practically non-existent southern border, it’s an ongoing disaster.

Somehow the media still ignores it, downplays it, or simply does not report on it accurately or report on it at all. Even as the issue explodes in New York City, and to a lesser extent, Washington, DC, where Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has been sending busloads of illegals to “sanctuary cities” to let them deal with it. The end result has been some angry progressive politicians who are now getting the deal with the same problem border states and cities have dealt with for decades.

A  new poll from NPR sheds some light on the problem by asking Americans how they view the issue. By and large, a majority see an “invasion” taking place, including a plurality of Democrats.

Overall, 53% of Americans in total say there is an “invasion” happening at the southern border. That number includes 41% of Democrats that agree with the overwhelming numbers of Republicans and independents:

Everyone knows there’s a serious border crisis going on yet the Biden administration has zero interest in trying to deal with it, they’ve only made it worse.

Much to the chagrin of NPR, the poll sponsor, the use of the term “invasion” seems to be catching on as people observe the ongoing problem:

Republican leaders are increasingly framing the situation as an “invasion.” Immigrant advocates say the word has a long history in white nationalist circles, and warn that such extreme rhetoric could provoke more violence against immigrants.

Still, the polling shows that the word “invasion” has been embraced by a wide range of Americans to describe what’s happening at the border.

“We are not actually screening enough people to make it safe for the rest of the country,” said poll respondent Michael Cisternino, a Republican from Nevada, in a follow-up interview.

“We, the people of the United States, really don’t have control over who’s coming in, and where they’re going or what they’re going to do when they get there — if they’re criminals, if they’re not criminals,” Cisternino said.

This video recently made the rounds showing border patrol agents opening a gate that had been erected on private land:

Even with physical barriers, it doesn’t seem the Biden administration is interested in actually turning anyone away or preventing entrance into the country:

A shocking new video shows federal agents calmly unlocking gates at the border to let illegal immigrants stream into the US amid an alarming, record-breaking surge.

Drone video footage obtained by Fox News initially showed more than a dozen unsure-looking immigrants standing behind a locked gate on the Texas border.

Another clip then showed a Border Patrol agent calmly opening the gate, allowing a group of more than 25 border-crossers to stroll in — then locking the gate behind them again.

Texas’ tough Gov. Greg Abbott — who has been shipping border-crossers to Democrat-run safe-haven states and cities, including the Big Apple — was among those expressing outrage at the latest video.

It comes as sources told the same network that 2,001,034 “migrant encounters” have been recorded this year, a new record that dwarfs the 1,277,177 from this time last year.

Illegal migrants are incentivized now to head north from anywhere in Central or South America and take a gamble on reaching the United States. When they get here, rarely are they sent back or turned away. Once they enter the country, they’re basically set free and provided with assistance and travel.

Biden’s policy has created this “invasion” and the problem hasn’t improved
