With Christie being perceived as damaged goods, many of his supporters are now working toward a draft-Jeb movement to convince the former Florida governor to join the race.

Report from the Washington Post:

Many of the Republican Party’s most powerful insiders and financiers have begun a behind-the-scenes campaign to draft former Florida governor Jeb Bush into the 2016 presidential race, courting him and his intimates and starting talks on fundraising strategy.

Concerned that the George Washington Bridge traffic scandal has damaged New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s political standing and alarmed by the steady rise of Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.), prominent donors, conservative leaders and longtime operatives say they consider Bush the GOP’s brightest hope to win back the White House.

Bush’s advisers insist that he is not actively exploring a candidacy and will not make a decision until at least the end of this year. But over the past few weeks, Bush has traveled the country delivering policy speeches, campaigning for Republicans ahead of the fall midterm elections, honing messages on income inequality and foreign policy, and cultivating ties with wealthy benefactors — all signals that he is considering a run.

Is the Bush brand really going to appeal to GOP primary voters in 2016? It seems that voices like Rand Paul and Ted Cruz are garnering most of the party base.

  1. Goethe Behr — cracked me up!

Funniest post this year — kudos on this one!

Just made my first cup of coffee before going surf fishing, and I’ll be still laughing while driving to the beach! Good one!

  2. Nate — AIPAC will have to push Jeb, so the neo-cons stay in line!

Rand Paul will garner nearly ALL of Ron Paul’s supporters votes — for they are educated enough to know that the apple does not fall far from the tree!

Let me phrase this another way (to see it from a different and more accurate perspective): Ron Paul supporters won many states by delegates (only to be ILLEGALLY overturned by the Neo-Con controlled RNC), therefore, know they were cheated!

For whom do you think they’ll vote in near unison — Ron Paul’s son, Rand, or a propped up another Neo-Con …?!

Add to this that when the time comes, Ron Paul will be stomping for his son, Rand! And this becomes an unbeatable combination!!!

The one thing Real Americans need to worry about is keeping the Paul’s alive! For the Bilderberg Gang wants them otherwise — and we all know what happened to JFK when he decided that America must no longer be ruled by Secret Organizations and special groups (like AIPAC — the Jewish Lobby that determines who is fit to be elected in USA ACCORDING TO THEM)!

    Bilderberg wants Ron Paul dead:

JFK Secret Society Speech— The speech that killed John F Kennedy:

AIPAC — the American International Jewish Lobby that determines who gets to be elected in USA ACCORDING TO THEM — or more concisely stated: AIPAC — is now defacto the “Voice of America”: (pause at 2.24 — priceless pics of owned John McCain, Hitlery Clinton, Barry Hussein Sotero-Obama, Joe Biden and Lieberman make this cameo, not shown are nearly 80% of the rest of our elected by AIPAC officials):

LMAO — absolute the BEST and MOST COMICAL (until it shows the innocent children killed by Israel, to whom we give FREE Militrary Aid in the billions of dollars) SAD EXPOSURE of how the Terrorist State of Israel gets to have their way in USA!!!!!!!!!

30 pieces of silver to buy them ‘Americans’ Reps… — priceless!

Unless Rand Paul (or someone like him) gets elected as the next US President — kiss our Free Republic goodbye, FOREVER — and call US Israel’s little puppets, where we beg for crumbs from their International Banksters to avoid starvation!

    • Surf: When I followed your link to the JFK speech, I also found this:

It’s a very persuasive and NOT sensationalized study of the Zapruder film, which the researcher is convinced was faked. Since the Zapruder film is the “proof” of the single-bullet argument, it opens up a real can of worms.

I was dubious about it, since we’re talking 1963, when the technology was crude, by today’s standards. But, as this video notes, the Zapruder film was not released until a full YEAR after the assassination–and it’s only 17 seconds long, so it would only require 500 photo fakes.

With today’s technology, it seems to me that it would be easy to spot physical manipulation, in addition to the logical arguments made here.

  3. I stand today to applaud Jeb Bush on his open and frank discussion on immigration. And I applaud a frail George H W Bush for going to meet Barrack Obama and welcoming him to Houston, Texas. Politics had nothing to do with this gesture…personal likes or dislikes were set aside. George H W Bush simply showed his respect for the office of the presidency of the United States.

  4. Goethe…I realize that you are something of the elder statesman on these pages but I resent that I am the only person from whom you request a proof of statement when expressing a complimentary.commentary.
From Washington Post …”Former Florida governor Jeb Bush (R) argued Wednesday that the United States should pass immigration reform because the U.S. economy needs the labor of young immigrants, and immigrants are “more fertile.”
“Immigrants create far more businesses than native-born Americans,” Bush said at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to the Majority conference. “Immigrants are more fertile, and they love families, and they have more intact families, and they bring a younger population. Immigrants create an engine of economic prosperity.”

Bush said immigrants are an advantage that the United States has over China, Europe and Japan, which don’t have the same immigrant tradition and are struggling to find young laborers.

“If we don’t do it, we will be in decline, because the productivity of this country is dependent upon young people that are equipped to be able to work hard,” Bush said.

Bush, whose wife is a Mexican-born immigrant, has long been an advocate for comprehensive immigration reform.

A Census report released Thursday showed that, for the first time, white deaths in the United States outnumbered white births. Population grew because of growth among Hispanics, African-Americans and immigrants.
Is this frank and open enough because there are others.

    • Sorry, TT.

I just thought you were saying some powerful stuff, but sort of hiding it under a bushel (as we old folks are wont to say).

I had to google Jeb to see what you were talking about, and was surprised. Thought you should have expounded a bit, since most of us don’t bother to look up stuff.

I didn’t mean to offend. I actually meant it as a compliment–that what you were saying deserved more space.

  5. Goethe..No offense taken. No questioning the fact that John Ellis Bush has set off the dog whistles within the collective Republican party. As a man of audacious decency, he will have much to overcome, the unjust wars, the educational failures, and the financial crisis of George W. Jeb Bush has an extraordinary record on education in Florida where he established a successful free, voluntary Pre-K program that required no taxes Fluent in Spanish, Bush has credibility within the Hispanic and Latino communities as a helpmate versus critic. Therein lies the needed votes. I admire him as a father, who publiclily stood with his children through childhood drug, indecency, and burglary charges and helped them to achieve good, stable lives. All this, and I am not sure of my vote, but I believe Jeb Bush will run for the Presidency.

    • Tess: Here’s my forecast: Jeb will continue to be visible, and somewhat verbal, but will demur when asked about his political ambitions.

He’ll lie low until AFTER the primaries begin, but will toss in a wrench from time to time. The clowns, like Cruz, will run out of money (not ego), and the serious candidates will battle it out.

If there is a solid frontrunner, I think Jeb will endorse him or her late in the primaries. BUT if it’s still a jump-ball, I see him stepping in “to save the party” halfway through.

That’s what Bobby Kennedy did in 1968–when establishment-Humphrey and upstart-McCarthy were battling it out.

  6. I believe you are probably right. I noticed that Sheldon Adelson gave Jeb his blessing and, I assume, his money.
