According to local reports, few candidates have spent much time in Nevada so far despite the state holding the third-in-line spot on the primary calendar. Trump’s event marks the second major visit by a candidate this year:

Former President Donald Trump is planning to speak at an event at a Las Vegas church on Saturday evening, his first trip to the battleground state this election cycle.

Trump’s website lists him speaking at a “volunteer recruitment event” at Fervent: A Calvary Chapel church at 4:30 p.m. It’s on the heels of an event in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Friday.

Presidential candidates have for the most part steered clear of Nevada this election cycle, even though the Silver State is third in the GOP primary schedule. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is the only declared candidate to visit Nevada so far, attending the Basque Fry in Gardnerville last month.

Trump spoke in Las Vegas the same date last year at an event touting Republican Senate candidate Adam Laxalt and then-governor candidate Joe Lombardo. He won the last competitive Republican nominating contest in the state in 2016, en route to winning the nomination.

According to polling data in Nevada, which is sparse, Trump currently maintains a 30-point lead over DeSantis in the state.

Watch live at the stream above around 6 pm ET and follow the Trump rally and event schedule for more details.
