Say What? Kamala Harris: “We Have a Secure Border in That That Is a Priority for Any Nation”

That’s it, the show’s over, folks. The Border Czar declared the border “secure” from illegal entries so we might as well just head home early.

In what world the border, in Vice President Kamala Harris’ head, is considered “secure” remains to be seen. With an ongoing unprecedented amount of border crossings and an untold amount of illegal drugs flowing into the country, the border is not “secure” when examined on several metrics.

That didn’t stop Harris from clearly explaining that the border is secure because we’re making it a priority for it to be secure because that’s what nations do, or something:

Vice President Kamala Harris insisted the U.S.-Mexico border is secure in a jumble of words on her ‘Meet the Press’ interview Sunday.

Harris blamed the Trump administration for a ‘broken’ immigration system.

‘I think that there is no question that we have to do what the president and I asked Congress to do, the first request we made: pass a bill to create a pathway to citizenship,’ Harris said. ‘The border is secure, but we also have a broken immigration system, in particular, over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed.’

‘We’re going to have two million people cross this border for the first time ever. You’re confident this border is secure?’ interviewer Chuck Todd pressed the vice president in the interview.

‘We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation including ours in our administration,’ Harris replied.

The bolded sentence above is probably the most Kamala answer she’s ever given.

“We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation including ours.”

What does that even mean? We have a secure border because we want to have a secure border? It’s secure because we’re sitting here talking about how secure it is? What an insane question, Chuck, of course the border is secure because we’re making security a priority in that security is the priority to a secure border!

It’s a garbage word salad predicated on blaming the border crisis on a broken immigration system. That part might be worth discussing as the immigration system is a slow and ominous beast forcing legal citizens to wait for years while fence-jumpers just sprint on by, get released into the country never to be seen or heard from again.

The issue, however, is definitely not that we need “comprehensive immigration reform” or some similar amnesty bill to further encourage more rampant illegal immigration. That’s been the problem started by the Biden administration early on with veiled promises of relaxed policies and allowing more asylum seekers to simply walk on through without any “remain in Mexico” policy or similar to discourage rampant crossing.

When even Chuck Todd looks incredulous, you might want to rethink your answer.
