Bernie Sanders Wins Wyoming Democratic Caucus

Bernie Sanders won the Wyoming Democratic Caucus on Saturday marking his seventh straight victory of contests held since the Idaho caucus on March 22nd. Wyoming is a small delegate pot, with Sanders and Clinton each taking home 7 a piece, but it’s yet another win for Sanders in the build-up to the New York primary on April 19th.

Full breakdown of results available from Politico. The vote was tighter than recent caucus results, with Sanders winning 55% to Hillary’s 44%.

Report from CNN:

Bernie Sanders won the Wyoming Democratic caucuses Saturday, providing his campaign with one more jolt of momentum before the race against Hillary Clinton heads east.

The Vermont senator was favored going into the caucuses. Wyoming is similar to other places he’s won with big margins: rural, Western and overwhelmingly white. The victory is Sanders’ eighth win out of the last nine contests — including a contest that counted the votes of Democrats living abroad — and a big morale booster heading into the crucial New York primary on April 19.

Sanders, speaking at a rally in Queens, New York, when the state’s results were projected, announced the victory to his supporters after his wife, Jane, joined him on stage to say they had won.

“News bulletin: We just won Wyoming,” Sanders said as the room exploded into cheers.

Sanders won 55.7% of the vote to Clinton’s 44.3%, giving each candidate seven delegates. That helps Clinton maintain her pledged delegate lead over Sanders, 1,304 to 1,075.

Here is video of Sanders addressing the Wyoming victory and giving his thoughts heading into New York:

As the polling currently stands in New York, Hillary is still leading quite strongly with the latest poll giving her an 18-point advantage.

  • As usual, things are not as simple as they seem. Sanders did win the caucus popular vote, but by a smaller margin than expected, given the overwhelmingly white electorate, a demographic that works strongly in his favor. But, due to the peculiar method of selecting delegates used in Wyoming, Hillary and Sanders tied with 7 delegates apiece. Add the fact that Hillary is the choice of all 4 superdelegates in Wyoming, and she leaves Wyoming with an 11 to 7 delegate victory.

    • The rules apply on every one the same way!
How about when Hillary won & they were very close and they had to split delegates ! Her and Birnie!
Birnie has a beautiful exciting wish list but no answer! No plans!
When it comes to Foreign policies , my god go & listen to NY daily news interviewing Birnie! He couldn't answer even once!!
Plus his misleading to the American people defining the honesty of a candidate based on the size of donations received by the candidate for the campaign!!! This is insane!
If it wasn't for the advanced technology today Mr Sanders won't be able to collect all those small donations!
So is the today technology made Mr Sanders the most honest person on earth??
"Mr Sanders, most of Americans aren't naive nor fool to be mislead or brain washed! Most of Americans are very smart that's way they asking lot of questions !
And that's why Hillary has almost 3 million votes more than you and Donald Trump!

    • I suppose you are as correct as you would be by saying that a Polar Bear was white, yet that bear's fur is not white.
It would, surely, be more correct to say that Hillary has the 'current' support of these 'floating' delegates?
In any case you spoil things for yourself with all this demographic clap-trap.

Yes in deed Peoploid , you're absolutely right!! Rules are the rules , they do apply on every body the same way.
By the way I would like to ask Mr Sanders to fallow his own judgement and Not to listen to his campaign staff all the time because for him to define a candidate's honesty by the size of the donations received for the campaign and just because of the advanced technology today, Bernie is receiving small donations means he's the most honest and who ever received larger donations are dishonests!!!! Seriously!!!
      Which kind of logic!!!
And if that's the case , every body in the whole world including USA from the president, governors , mayors, and congressmen and senators and so forth all are dishonests and dealing with the devil like his campaign manager said!!!
      These are serious charges!!! Insane!!
I personally feel offended by this , we're not naive or fool to just be misled by these tactics so he can gain our votes!!
You may accuse someone base on one record and act !! Solid proofs!!
During whole campaign, all I hear from Bernie: " free tuition!! Breaking Wall Street!!
      I receive small donations!!
"Mr Sanders , how will you achieve that ?
He couldn't come with an answer, go and listen to his interview by NY Daily news!!!!
I'm sorry, I respect Mr Sanders, but we care so much about our country, we need a candidate who can save it from crazy republican candidates as Mr Trump
And who 's able to answer questions and some solid experience specially foreign policies
God bless America and Americans any where they are!!

    • The embarrassment goes much further than the primaries, e.g., voter ID laws, campaign funding, outdated voting process (for example begin voting by the Internet rather than polling locations), length of time allowed to campaign, etc When we talk "revolution", let's take on the entire process.

      • About Internet voting: First you need to come up with an ID-system that ensures that nobody votes more than once AND preserves voter confidentiality. If this two-headed donkey can be solved, then we can have Internet polling stations

        • I agree. I just think all of its possible. I know it's not quite the same thing, but I just renewed my drivers license and got new plates for my truck all online. I never thought that was possible in TEXAS.

    • Please be more specific, say republican primary election is the biggest embarrassment in American history
