Year-End Top Tens for Trump

Americans love top ten lists, so we looked for lists about Donald Trump’s first year in office. The person best known for top ten lists is David Letterman, who offered a list, including, number ten, “That thing on his head was the gopher from Caddyshack,” and number one, “Thanks to Donald Trump, the Republican mascot is also an ass.”

Meanwhile, if you Google “Trump ten,” you’ll get actress Jane Krakowski, who says “the Trump 10” is the weight gained by people, drowning their sorrows in Twnkies after the election. But Yahoo gives us the top ten promises kept by Trump.

“Bomb the hell out of ISIS.”

“The replacement for Justice Scalia will be a person of similar views and principles.”

Pull out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, “a potential disaster for our country.”

“Cancel” the Paris climate deal.

“The Trump plan will lower the business tax rate.”

“Repeal and replace disastrous Obamacare.”

Rolling back regulations.

“Drill, baby, drill.”

“By ending catch-and-release on the border, we will stop the cycle of human smuggling and violence. Illegal border crossings will go down.”

Recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Meanwhile, here are the top ten items of the Obama legacy that Trump has undone.

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals

Transfer of surplus military equipment to local police

Normalizing relations with Cuba

The Paris climate agreement

Offshore and Arctic oil drilling

Net neutrality

The Clean Water Rule

Caps on greenhouse gas emissions at power plants

Scope of national monuments

Bathroom protections for transgender students

Then, the Hill gives us the top ten Trump controversies.

The firing of James Comey

Charlottesville

Travel ban

Taking a knee in the NFL

“Little Rocket Man”

A controversial condolence call

Indictments

Kirsten Gillibrand “would have done anything”

Sean Spicer and the inauguration crowd

The Mooch is loose

The Hill also noted that Trump gave himself a “ten” for his handling of the ongoing disaster in Puerto Rico.

And Forbes Magazine gives us Trump’s ten most offensive tweets:

The hatred that clown @Krauthammer has for me is unbelievable—causes him to lie when many others say Trump easily won debate.

How can a dummy dope like Harry Hurt, who wrote a failed book about me but doesn’t know me or anything about me, be on TV discussing Trump?

My plan will lower taxes for our country, not raise them. Phony @club4growth says I will raise taxes—just another lie.

Lightweight Senator @RandPaul should focus on trying to get elected in Kentucky—a great state which is embarrassed by him

Every Poll has me winning BIT. If you listen to dopey Karl Rove, a Trump hater, on@oreillyfactor, you’d think I’m doing poorly.

Truly weird Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky reminds me of a spoiled brat without a properly functioning brain. He was terrible at DEBATE!

The president of the pathetic Club for Growth came to my office in NYC, and asked for a ridiculous $1,000,000 contribution. I said no way!

@MeghanMcCain was terrble on @TheFive yesteray. Angry and obnoxious, she will never make it on TV. @FoxNews can do so much better!

@FrankLuntz is a low class slob who came to my office for consulting work and I had zero interest. Now he picks anti-Trump panels.

Huma Abedin, the top aide to Hillary Clinton and the wife of perv sleazebag Anthony Weiner, was a major security risk as a collector of info

And, finally, Robert Reich, who served in the administrations of Presidents Ford, Carter, and Clinton, gives us the ten steps Trump uses to turn lies into half-truths.

Step 1: He lies.

Step 2: Experts contradict him, saying his claim is baseless and false. The media report that the claim is false.

Step 3: Trump blasts the experts and condemns the media for being “dishonest.”

Step 4: Trump repeats the lie in tweets and speeches. And asserts that “many people” say he’s right.

Step 5: The mainstream media start to describe the lie as a “disputed fact.“

Step 6: Trump repeats the lie in tweets, interviews, and speeches. His surrogates repeat it on TV and in the right-wing blogosphere.

Step 7: The mainstream media begin to describe Trump’s lie as a “controversy.”

Step 8: Polls show a growing number of Americans (including most Republicans) believing Trump’s lie to be true.

Step 9: The media start describing Trump’s lie as “a claim that reflects a partisan divide in America,” and is “found to be true by many.”

Step 10: The public is confused and disoriented about what the facts are. Trump wins.

  • In my 50 years in this country I have never seen any president be they Democratic or Republican attacked as viciously as President Trump has been. Could it be that of all the presidents he has had the balls to do what he says? Ronald Reagan was close but he was a politician, while President Trump is not.?

I can see why Jane Krakowski laments over Democrats drowning their sorrows in food after the presidential election. All except the people in the Northeast and West Coast saw what a lier Hillary Clinton was and rightfully voted against the Wicked Witch.?

Finally the Democrats don't have anyone on the horizon to compete against President Trump. That and their former presidents have either been incompetent and ineffective like O'Bugger, sexual deviants like Bill Bubba Clinton or downright weak like Jimmy Carter.?

I guess for know those poor demented fools also known as Democrats will have to glory in the magnificence of President Donald J Trump.?

    • Very well put.. Trump has proven how dishonest the GOP and Democrat establishments are.

Bush was a horrible President. Clinton was a pervert. Sickening that people agree with them.

      • Good morning 2018 !

We have a president who does not hesitate to threaten other countries with bombings and war. Ironic, when we remember the sad fact that President Trump was a five time draft dodger in the Vietnam War era. Dodging the draft in wartime is so much worse than taking a knee.

For the first time in U.S. history, we have a president with no experience in public office and with no observable commitment to constitutional rights. A president who treats rivals as enemies, who intimidates the free press, and strives to weaken the institutional buffers of our democracy.

America has a loud, large man who is unhealthily obsessed with himself as president. A president who used the bankruptcy law four times to avoid paying his just personal debts. Trump just signed a budget for over 1.5 trillion dollars that someone else (average taxpayers and their grandchildren) will have to pay off. A budget that will allow Trump to personally add millions of dollars to his personal pocket.

Why downgrade just Bush and Clinton? Under Bush, Dick Cheney ran the show and is the one that should bear the brunt of all and any evil. Under Clinton, the US economy grew and performed the best in that entire century. With the exception of Nixon, and maybe three more, all presidents were known to have special ladies on the side. Trump’s list of over thirteen or more sexual relationships while married tops the list.

        • Happy New Year to you too.

We finally have a President who isn't just going to throw money at NK and expect them to be good. We finally have a President who is going to fulfill his promises to the American people.

Example: Bush, Clinton, and Obama said they were going to move the embassy to Jerusalem but they lied.

You said Trump was a draft dodger. Is serving a requirement for the presidency? If so do you remember if Obama, Clinton, or Bush served in the military?

Clinton's economy did great after the Newt revolution. Trump's economy is doing well so far. We'll have to wait to see if it'll do better.

          • During the Vietnam War George W Bush was the son of a congressman (George HW) who may or may not have used his connections to get a cushy deal for his son. There are no factual records available to prove one way or the other. George W was given an honorable discharge from service and that record is available for public view.

Bill Clinton didn’t have a wealthy political force to protect him en masse. It was suggested – even by then President George Bush – that Bill Clinton’s visit to Moscow during the Vietnam era was inappropriate and circulated unfounded rumors that Clinton had even served as an "agent of influence" for the KGB. False claims but very harmful. The truth is, in 1969, Clinton entered the draft but received a high number (311) and was never called to serve. Clinton received two education deferments while at Georgetown and Oxford in England which probably wasn’t necessary due to his high draft number.

Barrack Obama, born Aug. 4, 1961, was too young to be drafted in Vietnam War. The US draft was ended in the early 70s, with no requirements for registration. In the late 1980’s, without reviving the draft, young men 18 to 45, were required to register for possible armed forces duty. However, the registration did not apply to those who were already past a certain age. Roughly, men who are now aged about 45-55 (Obama’s age group) were never required to register for the draft and would not have had a place to do so if they had wanted to.

While on the campaign trail, both Clinton and Bush said they favored moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Once in office, both abandoned the thought. Barack Obama never specifically addressed the question of moving the embassy.

Trump spent 2017 destroying the chance of the average American’s to a good life. 2018 will be the year of Trump’s fulfillment of his plans to completely trample down the very people who voted him in office. Are you ready?

          • Thanks for the research on the past presidents.

Why do you think Trump spent 2017 destroying the average Americans chance for a good life? I ask because he, or others, wouldn't get re-elected if that is true, right?

I haven't seem anything that he's done that would lead to a trampling of those who voted for him.

          • Trump’s core base consists of the many, many people who, regardless of state, continue to adopt and share the mind set of the old “solid south”. They are slow to recognize Trump has betrayed them all but in 2018 they will fully discover the cruel truth.

Tuesday, Donald Trump, whose past impulsive and immoral conduct contributed to two failed marriages and the bankruptcies of numerous of his businesses, engaged in a boasting contest with another dictator from North Korea. Presently, the question is “who will drop the first bomb”.

Trump has had help destroying the average Americans chance for a good life. Any elected official in congress who voted for Trump’s budget is equally guilty. Trump’s job security depends on support from these same GOP legislators. Their job security depends on Trump’s base showing up to support them in their devious actions. Trump’s budget, which passed with only Republican votes, is an unbelievable gift to the very, very rich, including himself. One can’t say Trump forgot the poor because he remembered to cut funding for food stamps, disability insurance and other programs that help sustain the hungry and the forgotten. Hungry children will no longer be served snacks at school. For many children this was their main meal of the day. The vilest shame on Donald Trump and members of congress who voted to starve little children. This is called trampling on the innocent.

Trump’s budget increased the federal deficit by more than the predicted $1.5 trillion. The total impact of the more than 200 provisions of the final tax bill represents more than $5 trillion worth of changes to the U.S. tax code altered to benefit the already ultra rich. Our children, their children, and future generations to come will still be paying the tab for Trump’s gift to himself and the ultra rich. Trump still talks about fighting for the little guy, but he has not put any money for them in the Federal Register. That big bipartisan infrastructure bill he keeps promising has yet to see the light of day. This is called trampling on future generations pocketbook.

          • Liberal Democrats have never cared about the deficit until Trump. Now all of all sudden they care. In fact they could care less about the deficit. Dude!!!

          • Just a reminder:

President Bill Clinton: left office with a $63 billion surplus in the Treasury

President George W. Bush: Used up Clinton’s surplus and added $3.293 trillion to the National debt.

President Barack Obama: Inherited and saved a nation faced with bankruptcy. Added $6.690 trillion to the national debt.

Donald Trump: promised to reduce the national debt, but instead will add $5.8 trillion or more to the national debt. His plan to reduce the debt relies on his unproven theory that economic growth will be 6 percent. Trump has just revamped Herbet Hoover’s “chicken in every pot” promises. His tax cuts for the super rich will eliminate that promised economic growth,

          • I think you're right that Democrats don't really care about the deficit. The problem is if you eliminate taxes, you can't pay for programs. We've already seen this in the CHIP program, temporarily funded to protect kids only through March.

          • The CHIP program has bi partisan support, It will be financed.

Your right about taxes. The burden has to fall on the middle class. There aren't enough wealthy to pay for the programs.

Besides if they raise taxes on the wealthy they'll just raise the prices. They'll always win.

          • Trump's core base isn't slow to recognize anything. That's your code way of saying they are "stupid" and you all know everything. An egotistical bunch you are.

Trump's core base watched as your holier than thou core burned cars and destroyed property. You did this understand the guise of the "First Amendment."

The framers were turning over in their graves. No way the first amendment was meant to express destruction.

I replied to the rest of your comments but don't see that my comments were posted.

          • I've had the same feeling. I thought my computer ate my comment , or that I was censored, only to find that my comment was just on a different page. Check all the pages you've posted to lately.

        • Good morning 2018 to you.

I just can't help but noticing in your post that you don't seem to like President Trump very much. You mention fault after fault of his, but realistically which one of us after 7 decades of life are saints??

You do mention Bubba but somehow conveniently leave out Billary. I suppose you would rather prefer her as president to President Trump. The only presidency I can see the queen of crooks attaining is the one at the Sing Sing glee club.?

You also say that President Trump has no experience. He may not be politically saavy as were his predecessors but I just don't think that the Community Organizer was qualified either. Old Jug Ears went from in essence a shake down artist aka COMMUNITY ORGANIZER to a less than one term senator to president. Sorry for a political animal such as O'Bugger you have to admit that he was woefully unqualified to be the janitor at the White House. Being the president was quite a bit out of his league. His monumental FAUX PAS like calling ISIS a JV team, drawing a line in the sand or his bonehead move with Iran will go down in American history.?

          • Good morning and good 2018 to all!

Glad to see a number of good postings today. Hope it's a harbinger of increased activity heading toward the mid-terms.

[By the way, I decided to look up the etymology of "harbinger." Turns out, it was the term for a person who arranged for the lodgings of an army for an upcoming battle. So if you saw a harbinger, you knew what was coming.]

    • I had tried to find more "top tens" in favor of Trump, even focusing on Breitbart, Daily Caller, Washington Times and a few others, but they hadn't come up with their lists. I see that there are a few now.
