This is seriously a major news topic because the President made it one. The love between Donald Trump and the MSNBC Morning Joe hosts, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, seems to be all but vanished, the trio seems locked in a heated twitter battle which has spilled into opinion pages and morning television.
Let’s backup to Thursday, with details CNN:
Trump’s tweets in the 8 a.m. hour on Thursday said that “Morning Joe” is “poorly rated” (it’s not) and that the hosts “speak badly of me” (that’s true). He called both hosts disparaging names.
Trump claimed that Scarborough and Brzezinski courted him for an interview at Mar-a-Lago around the New Year’s Eve holiday.
“She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!” the president wrote.
Well, as you can imagine, Joe and Mika have an entirely different take on that night, and took great offense to the President’s tweet, from the DailyMail:
MSNBC hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski hit back at President Donald Trump this morning, calling him a liar and questioning his mental health, after their former friend claimed the duo relentlessly pursued him at Palm Beach property while Mika was recovering from a facelift.
‘We are both certain that the man is not mentally equipped to continue watching our show, “Morning Joe,” they said in a Washington Post op-ed on Friday morning.
According to their account in the Post, Trump invited them to Mar-a-Lago for dinner. When Brzezinski didn’t show, he asked them back the next night on, New Year’s Eve.
They went – but did not attend the party he was having that night, they maintained.
‘Mr. Trump also claims that Mika was “bleeding badly from a face-lift.” That is also a lie,’ the op-ed says. ‘Putting aside Mr. Trump’s never-ending obsession with women’s blood, Mika and her face were perfectly intact, as pictures from that night reveal.’
While Brzezinski ‘never had a face-lift’ they admit that she did ‘have a little skin under her chin tweaked, but this was hardly a state secret.’
Having postponed a Fourth of July holiday by a day, the pair, who revealed their engagement last month, stopped by their show to rebut Trump in person on Friday morning.
Brzezinski proudly talked about her chin tuck and declared: ‘It looks awesome.’

For Trump, this entire issue has now overshadowed the House passing what is known as “Kate’s Law,” which seeks to end the practice of sanctuary cities for illegal aliens. The bill is named after Kate Steinle, who was murdered in San Francisco by an illegal alien who had been deported several times, but was living safely in the city due to its “sanctuary” status. That bill was a minor victory in the House for Trump’s bread and butter agenda, but you’d never know it thanks to the Mika matter at hand.
