Report: Bannon and Kushner at Constant War in White House

It seems that as the Trump campaign turned into the Trump administration, there is a serious battle behind the scenes for what a Trump presidency should look like. On the one hand is the “Breitbart” view, pushed by Trump adviser Steve Bannon. On the other hand, is the moderate view being led by Ivanka Trump’s husband, Jared Kushner. Things have become so tense, that reports indicate Bannon was considering a resignation.

Report from the Daily Beast:

Donald Trump’s chief strategist Stephen Bannon has called the president’s senior advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner a “cuck” and a “globalist” during a time of high tension between the two top aides, several Trump administration officials told The Daily Beast.

The fighting between Kushner and Bannon has been “nonstop” in recent weeks, according to sources who spoke on condition of anonymity. It’s been an “open secret” that Bannon and Kushner often clash “face-to-face,” according to senior officials.

One official said Bannon has lately complained about Kushner trying to “shiv him and push him out the door” and likened him to a fifth column in the White House.

“[Steve] recently vented to us about Jared being a ‘globalist’ and a ‘cuck’…He actually said ‘cuck,’ as in “cuckservative,’” the administration official told The Daily Beast.

Bannon is a self-described “nationalist” and long-time Republican, while Kushner was, until his father-in-law ran for president, a lifelong liberal and a Democratic donor.

Kushner is basically antithetical to everything that Bannon believes in and advocates for, and vice-versa. The two were bound to come into conflict, especially as policy decisions are made and the Trump agenda is being unfolded.

Unfortunately for Bannon, Jared Kushner is married to Ivanka Trump, so I can basically tell you how this story is going to end. There seems to be no closer confidant in Trump’s circle than his children, and if things go south, Bannon will get pushed out the way Corey Lewandowski did back during the campaign.

It’s no secret that Ivanka Trump, and likely her husband, have been pushing a more moderate, perhaps even liberal agenda with their positions in the White House. Ivanka recently met with the President of Planned Parenthood, for example, though the meeting was a disaster for her. Undoubtedly President Trump is caught in the middle between competing interests within his inner circle. If things continue like this, look for some shuffling and/or resignation from someone in the near future.
